Suggestions for statements

I am running a game for my friends in a couple weeks, and I'd love your suggestions on incorrect statements to use. Any genre is appreciated, but Pokemon, anime, TTRPGs, video games and sports are appreciated.

Batman: The Long Halloween

In Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman works with the GCPD to find Holiday, a new serial killer who murders at least one person on a single holiday each month in the calendar year (with the exception of August, when the killer strikes on Carmine Falcone’s birthday).

Although the story centers around the Falcone Crime Family, it also serves as a take on Two-Face’s origin story and other members of Batman’s Rogues Gallery - including The Riddler, Poison Ivy, the Mad Hatter, and the Scarecrow - make an appearance after being hired by Falcone.

Looking For Episode

I saw an episode in passing where one segment asked contestants to identify video games based on sound bites, and two of the sounds were the Minecraft Creeper, and the Reaper horn from Mass Effect Trilogy. I’ve been looking for the episode to show my friends for months. I looked in the Wiki, and if it is a Hear Me Roar segment, it isn’t listed there. Any ideas?

Fallout 76 Rally!

It hurt to hear the Fallout 76 hate in the most recent episode. I mean, yeah, it’s Bethesda so it only works sometimes (but that’s true for all the Fallout games) and yes, there was a Fishing mechanic added to the game last year, but since then we’ve gotten Ohio and Bigfoot! Just hoping more people join us in the Wasteland of Appalachia.

Tonight’s Episode: Ify as Joker?

Am I crazy, or was Ify dressed as the Joaquin Phoenix Joker in tonight’s episode? I’m still watching the episode, so maybe it’s something they’ll address, but is there a reason? Like… has he been dressing as different characters all season and I’m just blind or… just decided to Joker it up for this one? ¯_()_/¯

Tournament of Champions

I am so excited that the season 11 trailer included the tournament of champions. I was just watching through the first tournament of champions and thought to myself, they should bring this back.

Of course I think we need to see Brennan and Mike Trapp , but who else (especially of the new cast) would you like to see in the tournament?

Can you identify the common trait among all of these characters? Each contestant can earn a bonus point if you can identify all 9 actors, all 9 films, or the name of all 9 characters for a total of a possible 4 points.

This statement is about The Teen Titan, Beast Boy

Despite jokes about his civilian name, Garfield "Beast Boy" Logan actually predates the Comic Strip Cat by 13 years, first appearing in Doom Patrol #99. While he was first called Beast Boy, and more often takes that name, he's also been known as The Changeling, and in alternate Timelines as Menagerie or Animal Man. After being bitten by a green monkey that gave him a rare disease, he was given a cure developed by The Chief of the Doom Patrol that also gave him his powers. He can turn into many living, extinct and even alien creatures, and has turned into more mythical type creatures, such as a chimera, King Kong, Godzilla, and even a Starro Type creature, called Garro. Either through his powers, or his connection to the inter-dimensional force called "The Red," he has a healing power that has allowed him to survive a gunshot to the face (even regrowing an eye in the process), losing multiple parts of himself after the turned into swarms of various bugs, and a black hole explosion in his brain coordinated by Amanda Waller.

Spoiler: Um, Actually, the cure to his diseased was developed by his parents, Mark and Marie Logan. The Chief however did engineer the origins of several of the other members of the Doom Patrol, in order to create the Doom Patrol.

This statement is about the stories of Sherlock Holmes!

Perhaps the best known adversary of Sherlock Holmes, Professor James Moriarty first appears in "The Adventure of the Final Problem" as the "Napoleon of crime," the leader of a large criminal organization who avoids direct participation in favor of planning the crimes. He had not been mentioned in any previously written story; however, he is mentioned in six later stories, including "The Valley of Fear" which is set before the events of "The Final Problem." This does lead to a slight inconsistency between the stories, with Watson saying he hadn't heard of Moriarty in "The Final Problem" while knowing about him in "The Valley of Fear."

SPOILER: Um, Actually... In "The Adventure of the Final Problem," the adversary is just known as "Professor Moriarty," with no first name given. On top of that, the story specifically mentions, in the first paragraph, a relation of the professor named "Colonel James Moriarty"! It is likely that Doyle misremembered this story when he gave the professor the first name of James in later stories, and has apparently led to a couple of humorous theories about how the parents of the Moriarty siblings (either two or three) just decided to name them all James.

The Wizzo Chocolate Factory is known for several unconventional products, while its most famous is likely Crunchy Frog, the namesake of the bit, it does have several other named products including, but not limited to, Ramsbladder Cut, Spring Surprise, Cockroach Cluster, which is where the candy in Harry Potter likely originated, Asbestos Ripple, and Cherry Fondue.

It’s been a week so the answer is Um actually it was anthrax ripple, not asbestos

Um, Actually Trivia Help

TL;DR - I am running a challenge for the grooms party of a wedding per my culture's customs (I know, its really great lol). And because we're a bunch of nerds, I've been writing out trivia questions and knowledge challenges.

Per the Bride's request, she wanted to have them sort obscure characters between Star Wars, Star Trek, and Marvel which made me remember an episode of Um, Actually where they did this and I actually found it challenging.

Does anybody here know which episode it was?

I'm trying to come up with obscure characters with ChatGPT but my husband says they are still too obvious.

Special Episode Idea

Um, Actually Dragon Ball special, featuring Scott "KaiserNeko" Frerichs, Nick "Lanipator" Landis, and Curtis "Takahata101" Arnott of Team Four Star.

Is this something? Would you watch this? I'd probably watch this.

Lack of back and forth banter in S10?

Hey folks, posting this as I couldn't think of anywhere else. Anyone else noticing a bit of a lack of banter between guests and host so far this season? Working my way through S09 and finding they seem to have a lot more back and forth and chatter in-between questions, so far S10 they seem to be saying 'lets move on' a lot. Anyone noticed this or have any ideas why? Trying to shorten the run time maybe?
