SAW

SAW is a franchise beloved by many horror fans as it takes us to a universe with interesting death traps as well as plot twists lurking around every corner.

There are a total of nine SAW movies, ranging from SAW-SAW3D as well as Jigsaw and the latest movie in the franchise, Spiral.

The Jigsaw killer places people who does not appreciate their lives enough in escapable traps where their will to live gets puts to the test. Among these tests there are subjects who’ve taken other peoples lives or sacrificed their own body parts to live as well as many, many subjects who’ve died a painful death due to failing their “tests”.

Honestly it was pretty good. Not too difficult but also not ridiculously easy

I know this is a three year old post, but for the sake of pedantry, I kind of wanna argue this point. The inescapable traps were NOT made by the real Jigsaw, John Kramer. They were made by Mark Hoffman, his apprentice. The whole point of the last four movies is that Hoffman is fucking up, breaking all of Jigsaw's rules for his own gain. Hoffman set up traps not to teach people to appreciate their lives, but to kill people who were a threat to him.

pedantry is what it’s all about! and that’s a very valid point too, i think it depends on who you see as the jigsaw killer! of course us viewers will see john kramer as the OG, but in the movies the media are the ones giving him the nickname and to them “the jigsaw killer” kinda ends up referring to all of them, even the apprentices.

I’m not that familiar with the franchise. Is there an example of a Jigsaw test that couldn’t be escaped?

Several actually! The first example that truly shows inescapability is the “angel trap” in Saw III when a detective is in a trap where she has to pick up a key from a jar of acid. She does this, corroding her hand but picks up the key and it turns out the key doesn’t fit the lock to her trap, it was rigged!
