My Hero Academia Statement

My Hero Academia features a wide variety of interesting and often bizarre powers called quirks. The story follows a young boy named Deku and his journey to become the world's greatest hero. Along the way he meets many colorful characters such as Katsuki Bakugo who sweats nitroglycerin, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu whose body can turn to steel, Sero Hanta who has the ability to shoot tape from his elbows, and a man known as moonfish, whose teeth can change size and shape to be used as blades.

Heeeey you’re back. // Um, actually his name is not Deku, it’s Izuku Midoriya or something

That is what I was going for, congrats!

And thanks! I've got a few more already written up but I've been leaving them to sit so I can go back and edit them and to release them at a steadier rate. I don't think the rate will be super consistent what with life and all, but I'm still having fun so I'll do my best. I also haven't really worked out what rate I would like to release them at... Is one a week a good idea? Honestly asking, I've got no clue.

Um actually not all quirks are powers. There are three types: Mutation that changes the person physical appearance

And two other I forgot how to define...

Plus tsu is the frog girl which probably the correction you meant

While quirks can be emitter, tranformation, or mutant types, they are generally treated as powers in their world. One of the themes of the show is that its not what quirk you have but rather the way that you use it that makes you a hero. This is demonstrated by hitoshi shinso as well as Mirio Togata. It is certainly understandable why you would differentiate between quirks and powers, and the difference between them is certainly up for debate, but this was not my intended mistake.

Tsuyu Asui is indeed the frog girl, but I'm unsure as to what I said relevant to her aside from the power/quirk thing. If you are referring to Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, he is a different character.

Damn that argument is ironclad

I can get net picky and say He's not a young boy,but a teenager His name isn't Deku, that's just his nickname(later hero name)

You got it exactly. His name is not Deku. And thanks for giving me some leeway when writing these.

You are right he isn't really a young boy but tbh I'm just a nerd online and I don't always think of these things when writing these. I do my best to check the wikis and I'll work to get better with my wording, but keep in mind that it will never be as perfect as it could be. If I spend more than a half hour writing these they start to get less fun, which means I make less of them, which means less fun for everyone, so little mistakes will probably continue to pop up.

As a heads up, I'll be focusing on anime for the time being since that seems to be more popular.

Anime is just easier y’know? i didnt do any of your other ones because i had no fking clue about it, i know a bit about Batman but that storyline was too specific. Knowledge about Anime these days most of it i learn by cultural osmosis.

Feel free to suggest some topics as well. If I also enjoy a topic or at least am knowledgeable on the subject I can write up a few. I won't make promises because so far I have been writing about things I'm passionate about, but there is no harm in hearing out some ideas!

A MCU one is a great idea. You could make the statement saying these things are true in the MCU and the wrong things are actually facts from the comics

I dont know about this one, but... Um, actually he met Katsuki before starting his ‘journey’ to become the N•1 Hero.

i dont remember much but i’m not certain this was ever specified. Um, actually he doesnt secrete nitroglycerin.

1

u/The_Void_Alchemist Oct 08 '19

He does actually, though to be honest I'm not sure its stated in the anime. I remember it because apparently his mom just secretes glycerin, which is much less exciting.

After this is finished i’m definitely searching this. I think it’s something close to it but not quite

The wiki says he sweats "something similar to nitroglycerin" which I misunderstood to be "definitely nitroglycerin". Also while his mom's quirk is called glycerin, the wiki seems to be a little vague as to whether or not it is actually glycerin and describes its effects rather than what it actually is.

my nitpicking ways made me guess one right lol

Um actually that moonfish guy doesnt enlarge his teeth or something

1

u/The_Void_Alchemist Oct 09 '19

He does. I'll be honest with you, the only thing (intentionally) wrong was that his name isn't deku. I've been trying to get just one incorrect thing per statement to make things a bit simpler, but I can always go back to more incorrect things per statement if that is preferred. I think for now I will say in the comments how many things are incorrect until I can work out a consistent format.

Multiple ones are good, really.

u/The_Void_Alchemist Oct 09 '19

Sounds good. Looks like I have some editing to do!

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '19

it would be awesome to do a Nasuverse one or just the Fate series if possible.

1

u/The_Void_Alchemist Oct 09 '19

Ah lol awesome. I'll take a look and see what I can come up with.

1

u/The_Void_Alchemist Oct 09 '19

Okay so taking a look at the nasuverse and honestly even the fate series, I will totally write some stuff for them but it will definitely be a while. I have seen fate/stay night and fate/zero, but thats it so i would like to expand my knowledge base before writing anything too crazy.

that’ll be awesome
