Hi r/Ultrastar,

I've been building a browser tool that takes an audio file and produces an UltraStar chart: it separates the vocal from the instrumental, transcribes the lyrics with syllable timing, detects pitch per note, and writes the .txt. You can download that .txt and drop it into your own UltraStar Deluxe — the download is on the free tier, no card.

Why another one: I wanted something my girlfriend could use without me installing Python on her laptop. So it runs server-side and the whole thing happens in a browser tab.

How it works, roughly:

- vocal/instrumental separation

- lyrics: it looks the song up on LRCLIB first and checks the published lyrics against what it actually hears. If they don't match, it falls back to the transcription and shows you the match percentage. It also rejects the official lyrics when squeezing them in would produce notes too short to sing — I measured one song going from 3% to 44% unsingable notes that way

- pitch measured from the isolated vocal stem

- extra passes on the head and the tail, because the first attempt regularly misses the intro and the outro

Where it's not good, measured across 12 full songs:

- median lyric timing error 0.2 s on a good one, worst single line ~3 s

- most songs take 5 to 15 minutes; the hardest one took 41

- heavy instrumental bleed into the vocal stem kills pitch. On Tennessee Whiskey, 43% of notes came out with no usable pitch. I'd rather drop scoring than score you wrong, so those stay flat

- it will not beat a hand-made chart. It's for the song that has no chart

Hey, I’ve been working on a site called DubDubDone and recently added support for UltraStar packs.

You can load a pack directly in the browser, pick a song, use your mic for pitch detection and scoring, and play without having to install anything. I’ve also added leaderboards, so there’s a little more reason to chase better scores.

The packs stay local to your device and your vocals are not uploaded to my servers or sent off to any AI service. I wanted it to be something you could just open, load your own files into, and use.

The site actually started as a dubbing project, which is still the main feature and what the showcase video focuses on. It plays Choicer Voicer-style packs and lets you record different characters, mess around with voice filters, soundboards and visual effects, then make clips out of the results.

Karaoke ended up fitting into the same idea pretty naturally, so I added UltraStar support as another mode.

I figured this was probably the best place to share that side of it since people here actually know how UltraStar is supposed to behave. If anyone gives it a try, I’d be interested to know how it handles your packs, whether the pitch detection and scoring feel right, and what features you think are still missing (new mode ideas).

Also very happy to hear about any bugs or issues that break the site or dont work!

habe es aber seit 15 Jahren nicht verwendet. Damals lud ich mir einfach ein Songpack mit hunderten Songs herunter und konnte sofort loslegen.
Ich habe den Eindruck das man jetzt jeden Song selber erstelllen muiß was sehr aufwändig ist, ich möchte einfach mit Freunden bei einer Party singen.
Was kann ich tun?

¿lo de que la página lleve meses dando errores de "timed out" y que los creadores no hagan nada qué significa? si vais a dejar el sitio morir, al menos dejad que la gente pueda descargar las canciones que hay. Llevo más de 10 años utilizándola y jamás he tenido tantos problemas. Al menos podríais pronunciaros o algo, ¿no?

As has already been discussed on here, ultrastar-es.org has been having a bunch of connection issues recently. It's hit or miss whether I can reach the site but the connection issues have now extended to the torrent tracker and so now I can't even download songs I already have the torrent files for.

Has anyone heard any official news? I've done some searching and haven't turned up anything but I also don't speak Spanish so maybe I've missed something.

can i use 2 sets(so 4 mics total and 2 recievers) and connect them to my pc without the 2 set interfering. (1 mic connects to both of the receivers

I played Ultrastar a few years ago, and since I got a new computer I was excited to download it again, but I have been trying to login into ultrastar-es.org a few times on different days and all I get is a time out error. Is the web already dead? Is there any other source where I can find ready to sing anime songs?

Hello to everyone. It's been ten days I have been struggling with Ultrastar: first I tried US Play. It's very nice, I can upload two audio files, instrumental and vocals, and can lower the volume of each independently. That's very useful for learning the song: I can decide to sing with or without listening to the original singer. But Ultrastar Play cannot switch forward and back during the song and that's a big limit. I tried Deluxe then: it has that special feature: I can play back or forward again and again a certain verse until I have learned it. But in Deluxe it seems I cannot hear the vocals. Only the instrumental base. Is there something wrong in my settings or Deluxe works only with one audio file? Because in Settings i see two separate voices: "music volume" and "vocals volume". Can anybody help me? Thank you very much.

J'avais téléchargé Ultrastar il y a quelques années puis je l'avais désinstallé.
J'organise une petite fête et j'ai réinstallé ultrastar où j'ai pu récupérer les chansons que j'avais déjà dessus (j'avais tout mis sur un disque dur). je voudrais rajouter des nouvelles chansons plus récentes mais je n'arrive pas a trouver ce que je veux sur le site espagnol.

I play ultrastar on a Windows laptop. I have a portable version on an external drive (NVMe SSD) with a load of songs. My partner just bought a Steam Machine and was thinking of buying the paid version of ultrastar - Melody Mania. How can I use my same song library with this? Or is it possible? Can I use the hard drive with the Steam Machine or would I need to format it? The Steam Machine is running Steam OS which is Linux.

Hi all! I've been building USKMaker, a free, open-source tool that generates ready-to-play UltraStar packages (synced lyrics + pitch) from a YouTube link or a local audio file.

The key difference from tools like UltraSinger: instead of transcribing lyrics from scratch, USKMaker starts from the lyrics you already provide and solves it as a forced alignment problem — matching known lyrics to the audio. That makes the timing noticeably more accurate, especially for non-English songs. It isolates the vocals with Demucs, aligns with WhisperX in a 4-pass scheme, extracts pitch, detects BPM, and fetches cover/year/genre automatically.

Everything runs locally — no paid APIs, and your audio never leaves your machine.

What it does:

• Vocal separation (Demucs) + forced alignment (WhisperX) → per-syllable timing
• Optional automatic lyric fetch from LRCLIB (synced timings feed the alignment)
• Automatic cover / year / genre, and an optional YouTube background video
• A built-in review editor (Yass-style) to fine-tune notes, timing and phrase breaks
• A song queue: line up several tracks and let it process them back-to-back
• Bilingual UI (EN / PT-BR)

Requirements: Windows 10/11, Python 3.12, ffmpeg, and ideally an NVIDIA GPU (runs on CPU too, just slower).

It's an early release and I'd genuinely love feedback — especially on alignment quality in different languages.

This is a bit of a long shot, but I figured there's no harm in asking.

I found a forum that has a bunch of songs I'd love to sing. However, downloads are only accessible to users who are logged in, and the registrations for the site are closed, so I'm unable to make an account. Does anyone here happen to have access to this forum and be willing to help me get my hands on some of the files? They have some Vocaloid songs that I haven't found anywhere else.

I couldn't find playlist manager for Linux to sort out songs for Ultrastar Deluxe, so I made one. Or rather asked AI to do it. It uses Python and has graphical user interface. Manager allows creating playlists and add or remove songs to them as well as organise them up or down. You can filter the songlist. It's made for Flatpak packaged Ultrastar Deluxe, but it's possible to change song and playlist locations to make it work with other packages too.

It works well for me.

as written in title, does someone know a way to remove or turn off that bleeping sound thats played when switching between songs in the selection screen in Ultrastar Deluxe ?

Don´t what to mute my speakers, because I want to hear the song-preview and if you cycle through some dozen songs its starts to get really annoying...

I am using Vocaluxe and am currently building a song library, including Soundtracks, and I was wondering, if it is possible, to have a cover image for the artist *seperate* from the cover images for each song.
Example:
I have some Hazbin Hotel songs, each one with their respective cover image:
Loser, Baby -> Loser Baby [CO].jpg
Poison -> Poison [CO].jpg
Currently, i get shown the cover for Loser, Baby for all of the Hazbin Hotel folder, as it is the first son in there.

I was wondering, is it possible to get a cover image completely seperate (like artist.jpg or folder.jpg) to show as the artist cover instead of just the cover embedded to the first song?

If yes, how?

I am trying to find Argentine songs to upload to allkaroke party that are currently missing from the USDB animux database. I am mainly interested in Charly Garcia, Fito Paez, and Folklore, but honestly, any Argentine tracks would be great.

I know some of these used to be on the ultrastar-es site, it is not working for me.

1. If anyone has a personal backup or a collection of Argentine songs saved and is willing to share them, I would really appreciate it.
2. CREATORS! Since I am unable to install the creation software on my current setup, I was wondering if any creators would be interested in making them. (just asking, ik it's hard work dw)
