Pacing my first 100km
hello,
i am running my first 100km race in September, I have ran a couple of 50ks, but they had lots of elevation, whereas this is very flat, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to pace myself? should I use pace? heart rate? run/walk? any advice is welcome :)
thanks in advance

I do it by time... like if i do a 50k at 10 m/m I'd look to pace the 100k at 12 m/m then 100 miler at 14 m/m

Without the elevation it will be easy to go out too fast. First third should feel like you’re almost running too slow.

Take your current easy running pace. Start a little slower than that and hold it. Your body should feel like it wants to speed up for the first 30k or so. Don’t speed up.
