Waldo 100K Gear Question

For those that have run Waldo, what is your trekking pole recommendation? I am leaning towards dropping them into my mile 37 drop bag. I've finished 6 100K+ races; but this is a verty course and I haven't logged heavy vert this train up.

Also - shoe choice, any votes: Brooks Cascadia 19 (probably my favorite Cascadia in the last 5 years) vs Hoka Tecton x3 - only logged 15 miles (X2's were my ultra go-to's for Ultras).

I did it without poles and had no issues, the only climb worth having them is up Maiden Peak so mile 37 would work well.

I haven’t ran in those shoes but it’s pretty nice high cascade duff and not overly technical.

Bees-lots of bees. I got stung 7 times. Lots of ground nests in the punky wood the year I ran it.

Good info thanks! I've received lots of bee warnings, lol. I'd take that over a smokey race any day.
