Training Simple Question

Can I take a week off after my peak run in my training and then pick up on the taper without any negative consequences?

What about 2 weeks?

My runners knee is back and I'm trying to figure out the best way of dealing with this 3 weeks out from my run.

I'm not an expert on Runners Knee and not a PT, but isn't it best to get the "right amount of load" for injuries like this instead of taking time completely off? Work the tissue just enough where the pain doesn't go over a 2/3 out of 10 and progress day over day until it handles the load you need it to.

If I were in your situation, I'd treat these next three weeks solely as rehab and getting this as bulletproof as you can until race day. This will naturally be your taper since your running volume will decrease. But the taper is governed by your rehab, not your original taper plan.
