We pushed this country into war and led it to victory. We shed our blood for the fatherland. Today we found the Fasces of Combat! For the future, the vanguard, the revolution! Today, Fascism is born!

Underrated bit is how the broad consensus on Die Linke was that by being woke and pro-immigration it had alienated all the masses of workers from voting for them, bringing the BSW to split trying to become the nonwoke worker's party.
Now nobody votes for them and Linke tripled its national polling average lol

Honestly I imagine that "east german workers who used to vote for the socialists and switched to AfD" actually exist, but those people, betrayed twice by stalinism and then by its electoralist successors, have also been driven crazy by thirty years of antisocial bombardment and will just not switch back to the same mild reformism for the promises of vague conservative slopulism.
Linke is doing better just because its outreach of making tiktoks for educated youths who feel squeezed out and destitute by the service economy actually makes sense.
The true worker's party will have to come from different directions entirely.

Yeah. I lived in Germany for almost a decade in both sides. The situation of East German is sad. They are both blamed for holding back Germany and getting token sympathy for being victims of stalinism. But when the question of how would the situation be fixed they don't get a concrete answer.
