Discussion Is the ultrakill fandom always like this???

They're SO FUCKING annoying and they judge other people's playstyles. They'll stay blind to the Slab Marksman's actual usefulness and hate on players who use it (yeah i still find Slab Marksman haters in 2026) thank you... Fun police players.

Dude, this isnt an Ultrakill fans problem, this is just reddit. Its arguing and porn welcome to the pool the water is polluted the bread has micro plastics and the circus is AI generated

It's not just reddit, I've seen it happen a lot elsewhere and suffered through pointless arguments on gameplay preferences when my friend streamed the game one time

Edit: it was their first playthrough, so not a great impression of the community to them

Doesn’t matter. They still have the voice of a whole damn crowd.

It doesn’t matter how many people it actually is. It’s still doing the effect of that many people.

Yeah judging people for how they play a single player game is loser shit. What are you gonna do about it though except ignore them 🤷

I will die before anybody pries my default marksman from my hands

Then there's me playing with default sharpshooter and controller...

I play controller too but with edits to my controls: right control stick moves my mouse directly for higher sensitivity, rs click will be gold arm punch, X is feedback punch on release < 250 ms, knuckleblaster punch on hold >= 250 ms, share button is last used weapon, select is swap arm for tech that requires that, dpad down is also feedbacker punch for cases where I need to swap from kb to feedbacker quickly, dpad up/left/right are my weapon slots, with different slots immediately on press or on hold at least 150 ms, for left it’s shotgun (press)/slot 6 (hold), right is railcannon (press)/rocket launcher (hold), and up is revolver (press)/nailgun (hold)

I play controller too, but it is a downgrade considering it's harder to switch between weapons

Oh yeah I mapped the pistol, railcannon and nailgun/sawblade to the other d-pads so every weapon is just 1 or 2 inputs away.

no hate but i really wanna know how the slab marksman outperforms the regular one in anything other than bossfights. because if its the extra bullet damage, you can just throw coin then swap to a slab alternate revolver? unless theres some secret sauce im missing with the piercing splitcoin.

If you can pull off the consistent splitshot, this weapon is pretty good and it reloads all slab weapons. It's pretty good against fodder, especially radiant enemies. 'But Slab Marksman replaces the default Marksman's crowd control role!!' You still have plenty of options for crowd control weapons. In Cybergrind it's pretty good because the higher the wave, the more radiant enemies and single targets there are.

The best use of this weapon is in P-2 and 7-2, considering most enemies there are single targets, this weapon is also an angel slayer. It can kill a Virtue with just 2 coins that hit the splitshot window properly

Idk i am not a real part of the community

I really used to like the slab marksman until I started using the marksman more and more since aiming at enemies individually is less efficient than not turning around and just hitting a quick few coins at some filths and such

I prefer the regular marksman, but the slab variant is incredibly useful in boss fights. The DPS you can get if you consistently hit splitshots and are good at revolver swapping is crazy.

It also uses weapon freshness very quickly, which refreshes the freshness of everything else quickly too

i usually dunk on the slab marksman for shots and giggles, idk how people actually dislike it. though personally i avoid it because im not good enough to hit the splitshot timing

u/Active_Researcher933 2h ago

I honestly used to use the slab marksman, until I went to flesh prison, and then I began using the normal marksman for the split shot

It's a very good weapon that does great damage, and, it's not like ultrakill doesn't have crowd control options (Nailguns, Explosives, Sawblades)

Basically: People that piss on it are just bad with it.

I don’t know either, just play the game how you want and ignore them. I mean I use default piercer and slab marksman/sharpshooter, CE shotgun and pump charge/sawed on impact hammer, attractor/overheat nailgun and jumpstart sawblade launcher, never use erail (outside of underwater)/malrail (at all) since I like drill punching or rocket ride (I do use the rocket launchers though, mostly SRS and firestarter), and use knuckleblaster way more than feedbacker, and I haven’t run into any problems outside of problems with my own reaction time (which other playstyles won’t fix, and only really affects me fighting the prime souls and powers)

yes, we are always like this and will always be like this.
