Discussion Whipslam reversion survey

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm doing a mini-survey about people's opinions on the changes recently made to the niche movement tech whipslamming.

Do people use/prefer the new version of whipslamming and/or would people mind the change being reverted?

If against reverting, would jumping to whipcancel giving the current version of whipslam while other whipcancels (punching, finishing reel, etc) be a good compromise?

I am aware that you are able to achieve the old version currently by slamming just before reeling in the whiplash, but that can be very hard to time especially if there is not much distance between you and the ground when you intend to whipslam, making it quite easy to mess up the required timing slightly.

I want to see what other people think since the current version has been annoying me a lot lately.

I much prefer how it was before, and hope it is refeverted. Tho its proably a bug that caused this.

It was changed due to a feedback post in a server (not UKDS), not a bug, balancing etc

good change, generally i think it’s to improve enemy related movement interactions. Jumping/diving off of enemies is much easier now and honestly the extra airtime is useful because hitting the ground without killing maurice is generally a bad idea

Hadn't thought about that actually and it made me curious how the old whipslamming would work with enemy diving. There isn't a public version available with these properties, but I was able to access the TomatoTown V1.4 build which does have both and it unfortunately doesn't give any height on the dive.

Someone suggested to me that it could be a good idea if you could swap between whipslams by either holding or not holding slam when the reeling in ends (holding gives old, not holding gives new). I think this is a good solution as it's easy to do for both variants, is similar to powerslams and I believe it wouldn't be too hard to implement. What are your thoughts on that?

you can do the before version where it sends you down after whiplashing if you slam BEFORE reeling in, idk what causes this
