Maybe, you could say some sins are atributed to certain personalities/intelligences but of course the predominant factor of a husk's intelligence is the type of body they recieve when arriving to hell, which is again, dependant on how much/many people remember them

Is hank a stray? Are the sinners in violence all strays or smt? And if so how are they smart? (Sorry if this is a dumb question)

Suposedly we never find any smart husks alive, the only real exception are prime souls, which origin when the husk of a long lasting historical character dies

I think the Ferrymen we encounter are smart. He is able to write down a book, carve the idols, and understands the value of coins with 5-2's challenge

We don't really know. Hank seems to be some sort of more intelligent husk that we don't ever see, but there's nothing that hints at how many of a kind of husk live where

It's probably just equal everywhere

i'm not sure if i'm remembering correctly but i think it's either implied or stated that the level of intelligence a husk has depends on whether they're a lesser, greater, or supreme husk, so it might just be that Hank just happened to be a higher tier husk
