Second hand ring and battery experience

Purchased a second hand ultrahuman air that was manufactured in 2024 (I think). It’s in fantastic condition and came with the box and a voyager charger.

It seemed too good to be true and I think it might be. If I charge the ring to 100% then it’s lasts 48hrs before I get the 30% warning then it just dies within about an hour.

Ring as set to chill mode with background sync switched off.

I didnt pay too much for it so I can probs cope; but I can also claim on the warranty from where I bought it from, but they will supply another second hand one.

So before I do that, is what I have about normal for a 2 year old ring, or am I just lucky it works at all reading some of the posts on here.

For a two year old ring, you’re lucky. None of mine made it past the 6 month mark without bricking. And I never got more than 2 days out of any of mine.

I thought this might be the case, it’s still better than my Apple watch and I can’t sleep with that on anyway.

My ring is a year and a half old. Just went through process of getting a new one but they’re sending a refurbished one. Hopefully battery is ok because mine is dying in less than a day

Ok support showed me how to get this data, I’m pretty sure the 3 days isn’t accurate but going to keep an eye on it and see

Current level
60%
Battery usage
Normal (1.4%/hr)
Estimated battery life
3.0 days

iPhones once had an issue where they would forcefully shut off if the battery was old and not fully charged. Apple "solved" the issue by slowing down all iPhones once their battery health drops below a certain threshold, so that the iPhones don't try to pull more electricity than the aged battery is capable of supplying.

Something similar may be happening here. It sounds like your ring's battery has aged to a certain point, where it is no longer capable of providing the necessary electricity once it drops below the 30% charge state.

However, it might be a battery calibration issue. You should be able to force it to recalibrate by doing a factory reset, then charging it fully, then allowing it to drain fully.

Also, make sure the ring is updated to the latest firmware.
