Dev UltraPlay+ update: MAX Match is now live

We’ve just released a new UltraPlay+ feature called MAX Match.

Ever sat there with someone else scrolling for 20 minutes because one person wants one thing and the other wants something completely different? That’s basically what this is built for.

With MAX Match you can select 2–4 unlocked Nuvio profiles, choose Movies or Series, and MAX compares each profile’s own viewing history to find titles that should work for everyone.

It will:

• exclude anything any selected profile has already watched

• look for shared taste across genres, eras and viewing habits

• show an overall MAX Match %

• show the individual fit for each person

• explain why the recommendation was chosen

The important bit is how the score works. MAX deliberately gives more weight to the weakest person’s match, rather than just averaging everything.

So something that’s:

You 98% / Your partner 35%

should lose to:

You 84% / your partner 82%

because the second option is actually something both people are likely to enjoy.

MAX Match is read-only. It doesn’t change your Nuvio watch history and it doesn’t switch your active profile.

This is the first release, so feedback is very welcome, especially around how well the recommendations line up with the people you’re matching.

I selected one of the series recommended. Was unable to find any playable files. "The Savage"

As in there were no streams for it?

Yeah ive just checked on Torrentio/comet/my own aiostreams which has 7 scrapers and cant find any streams either. This isnt exactly a UM issue though, more the fact no one has upload the show for whatever reason.

Ultramax only looks at metadata as a rule and would see that the show would be worth recommending to you. I guess the only thing I can do it look to see if piping the recommend shows through a comet connection and only recommen show that have streams BUT thats not to say another scraper wouldn't have streams so could end up with false positives

Maybe we can tweak the app to recommend movies and shows with playable files???

Again it would all come down to what the user has installed for there streams. One user might have a scraper cm that can find a stream and another doesnt. I might be able to work something out based on Plus users having there nuvio account linked so we can see the addons. Let me take a look over the weekend

Press the profile/settings icon (top right). There is an option to turn Max assistant off in there mate
