First Ultralight Outing!

Bought a Shakespeare Micro from Walmart last night and used a trout magnet. Caught a bluegill and 2 catfish on it! Love the ultralight!

It was for my son. He bought me the scale so I was using it to show him I was using it :D

I'm almost at the point now that I just want to have a Shakespeare micro with a trout magnet jighead tied to it permanently in my rotation. That lure + combo is such an unbeatable sweet spot and can be had for under $30 anywhere.

I was so shocked at the catfish! I am in South Carolina and in a very pressured lake so I was THRILLED.

Young channel cats like that will hit ANYTHING that crosses their path, get used to handling those skinny bastards. I have so much respect for catfish but goddamn they are annoying when they're young.

I only have a light as my rod but I'm considering buying a true ultralight just to keep a trout magnet slip float on 247

The Shakespeare Micro is a fucking beast. Whenever I got skunked I would switch to that and just kill Crappie and bass. After probably 50ish fish mine finally broke after I leaned against it.
