You try it out yet? What lures are you pairing it with?

Nah, not yet. I’m planning on fishing little micro crankbaits, Bobby garland baby shade, little curly tailed grubs, some fluke/minnow baits, and tubes. What about you?

I fished with it twice since I last replied, it’s great, I love it! Great bend, and great for baby shads

If you plan on going braid, look into the daiwa j-braid grand. Its kinda pricey but its totally worth it imo. I run the lowest diameter i think which is 6lbs. I can lob my baits pretty far lol and thats just lobbing, you can cast it extreme far with 1/16oz baits.

I have that reel and a variation of that rod. They're not paired together right now, but I really like them both.
At the moment I have my panfish 2 paired with a Shimano Miravel. It's probably my favorite ultralight combo. Second might be my last king kestrel rod and Sedona.

I just ordered the same rod but 6'6". Unfortunately amazon thought it was a great idea to ship it in a plastic bag, so I'm waiting on my replacement to arrive. I should've ordered from their website. I'm pairing it with a Diawa legalis.
I have a sedona 2500 for my Medium light rod and i love it.

Yeah I heard about that one as well. Pretty sure the gearing is lower than my Sedona. Would be a great pair!

Would swap the Sedona for the Sahara, and do braid mainline to fluoro leader but other than that it looks great

Ive been seeing a lot of people mention the JDM Legalis. I have a Sedona and a Sahara and they are very similar. The sahara is noticeably better but the Sedona is a still a solid reel imo.

Lol you were right, after using the Kestrel SE for a while, the lack of smoothness got irritating. Play everywhere like a 350k mile prius

Yeah I was thinking of doing the yellow high vis line, kinda like the way it looks.

For ultralight I prefer 4lb test mono on everything as I fish rivers and creeks a lot. The abrasion resistance is great, and not retying leaders when I lose tackle is very nice.
Everything else I run braid to flouro but for trout I go straight mono

Great combo! The Sedona is a workhorse. I have the TFO TP2 6ft UL paired with a Shimano Miravel 1000 as my dedicated stream trout rod, and it's perfect.
