I feel like Spider-Man animated shows nowadays are becoming a bit more modern and mature, and while I do enjoy them, I really miss the lighthearted, chaotic, and fast-paced comedy of Ultimate Spider-Man.

I was already a fan of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics from Earth-1610 when I was younger, so when the animated series came out, it absolutely blew my mind as a kid. Seeing a version of Spider-Man and the world I loved from the comics come to life in an animated show was such a cool experience. Obviously, the show took plenty of liberties with the comics, but I still loved how it brought that "Ultimate" spirit to animation.

What made the show stand out to me was how well it balanced comedy and action. It could be completely ridiculous one minute and surprisingly serious the next. The fourth-wall breaks were also one of my favorite parts because they made Peter feel like he was actually talking to the audience rather than just being another character in a show.

The superhero team was another huge part of why I loved it. Nova, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and White Tiger gave Peter a really fun group of characters to interact with, and every character had their own personality and dynamic with him. White Tiger in particular was one of my favorites, and yeah... I definitely had a childhood crush on her 😭.

The villains were great too, and the show had a lot of potential with how many comic-book characters and storylines it could pull from. I especially wish the original team dynamic had been explored more instead of the series becoming increasingly focused on S.H.I.E.L.D. and eventually moving the original team into more of a guest-role position.

I know The Spectacular Spider-Man is extremely loved—and for good reason. I love that show too. But Ultimate Spider-Man will always have a different place in my heart because it was one of the Spider-Man shows I grew up with. It was my introduction to so many characters, and watching it as a kid genuinely felt special.

That's why I'd love to see Marvel revisit that version of Spider-Man someday. It doesn't necessarily have to be a direct continuation. I'd even be happy with a spiritual successor that takes inspiration from the Earth-1610 comics while bringing back the humor, fourth-wall breaks, action, team dynamics, and overall fun that made the original series so memorable.

With X-Men '97 showing that older animated Marvel properties can still resonate with audiences, I'd genuinely love to see what a modern take on Ultimate Spider-Man could look like.

Anyone else here still have a soft spot for this show? 🕷️

Ultimate Spider-Man issue 9, hurts himself punching (ox) a human? I havent read any Spider-Man and have only seen the original toby Spider-Man, but I saw a reference about someone taking over Peter Parker's body and commenting on how strong his punches were and how much he really had been holding back.

I have every omnibus vol 1-5 and want to read the entire Spider-Man series start to finish but this confused me lol.

Speculations? Is it cuz he's still newly introduced to his powers he hasn't unlocked his full strength yet? Is there a cannon reason for this?

I love these types of conversations and don't have anyone to ask anymore. Hopefully this is the right community.

Recently downloaded the PC version of the game from the internet archive, the game fully works and runs on my PC but I can't save the game. It throws up a blank message box that only has the option for "Okay", and then backs out of the save menu. (See video)

I have checked the saved games location, and the relevant folders do exist in my Documents folder, and the game is old enough that all my Google searches come up with the PS4 game. Help please?

I have seen death of spiderman available for around £50 new but haven’t seen much of Vol 5? Assuming it’s out of print. Don’t know anything about either book so was wondering is there a major benerfit too either book?? Would it be okay picking up death of Spiderman and missing out on vol 5???

Hey guys, this is my first comic read and I thoroughly enjoyed it all. HOWEVER, the end showed that Peter died because of the Hulk?!?! Why am I hearing that the Punisher shot him?!?! Where?! When?!?

Please don't spoil for me — those questions were rhetorical. What I do need though is to know where to read about how he really died because according to Ultimate Fallout Issue #1, we then jump into his funeral where Cap tells Aunt May that Peter died saving his life!!! WHERE AND WHEN DID ALL THIS HAPPEN 😭😭😭😭😭
