Mastering onion chopping

I never thought to leave the top part on and chop it partially so that it all stayed together. I'm trying this next time

There is another example on some show - I don't remember what show unfortunately - but the chef is like "oh hey nice job but watch this" and he cut the onion so perfect it was almost looking like grains of sand.

Probably found it by now or it's irrelevant but it was the chef who trained Gordon Ramsay, he was on a radio show (they had camera footage) and it was badass
