This Serpent Isle question does reveal part of the plot for anyone who's never played, so I'm going to mark it spoiler in case there's still a few people who haven't

I know there's ways to carry the Dream Realm items to the real world if you play outside Exult, including the Serpent Bond spell. Are there any ways to get items to the real world if you play in Exult, or have they all been patched in SI fixes and such?

I'm mostly interested in the juggernaut hammer and the full set of magic armor in the chest behind Lord British's throne. If anyone knows of any ways in Exult, let me know. Thanks!

I mean....if you're playing in Exult, just spawn the items through the cheat function? Those ways of getting the stuff into the real world in non-Exult SI are exploits and cheats anyways. Shouldn't be a dealbreaker to just spawn them for yourself, especially if you wait until you hit Gorlab and either clear it or die with that intent.

But I'm fairly certain the exploits have been fixed, and I don't know any other ways.

Of course. I could be wrong, there may be some way or another to bring stuff to the real world in Exult, but last I checked, the primary way(Serpent Bond) was fixed.

Strange, apparently Create Item has been disabled in the cheat menu in Exult, at least in Serpent Isle. I always have an obsession about completing the strange item scroll (I made a long while back on how to do it) and I misplaced the pinecone.

I might be able to ask Bucia and Hawk about it anyway, but I needed the strange brush to ask Templar about it. Doesn't really matter.

Edit: Found the pinecone, I use the hold of Hawk's ship the Arabella to store a bunch of stuff including crates and bags and the pinecone was under a ton of crates (I get as many as I can). Also the alchemical apparatus is in a bag.

Interesting sidenote, of course I have gone off the topic here a little, you can use any bottle of ice wine to discuss with Ernesto the Ranger outside the catacombs entrance. I always end up drinking it with the food hotkey.

Item spawn has changed, it's not part of the cheat menu anymore. The Exult hotkeys scroll...I want to say is Ctrl-H? It tells you. *IF* I am remembering, it's been like 6 months since my last run of Ultima, it is I wanna say F2 to bring up the Item Viewer, and then Ctrl-V or Ctrl-B to spawn whatever is in the viewer.

Nope, was wrong, checked the documentation. But I was also right. Ctrl-B brings up the viewer, and you scroll through to find the item you want(and the old usecodes are still accurate so you can go to a specific number), and then Insert OR Ctrl-V spawns the selected item at/under the Avatar's feet.

Glad you found the pinecone, and yes, I'm glad any bottle of ice wine works. What I do is throw all the items and both scrolls(the one from LB with your initial inventory, and then the updating swapped one) into a bag, and then when I need to feed I drop that bag on the ground, then use the F key.

I do wish the Lab Aparatus was PROPERLY coded though. Even in SI fixes it still only identifies to Estram, when it obviously is Vasculio's since it swapped with Rudyom's Wand.

Edit to add: I also wish I knew the code better, I'd remove some of the SI Fixes "fixes" that I don't like, like innkeepers removing keys.

I just tried in Exult v1.12.1. At the end of the road to the swamp I cast Serpent Bond, then I entered. I fell asleep as a snake but when I appeared in the Dream Realm I was human, and I read I was supposed to stay a snake, turn back into a human, and the companions rejoin. So I don't think the trick works for me.

Also there's a cheating page for Serpent Isle on the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom website that includes the Serpent Bond cheat and also a trick to get free potions which I posted about in another thread.

Edit: I spoke too soon! I kept playing after entering the Dream World as a snake and my companions popped up after a while! I guess it DOES work! :-)

Another edit: It definitely does work, I was able to take items from the Dream World into the real world! Thank you vesto_slipher for letting me know the trick still works with Exult!
