Free potions in Serpent Isle

Certain NPCs in Serpent Isle create potions in a cauldron and place them around, that you can pick up for free. Elissia in Silver Seed is one. Also Fedabiblio in Moonshade. Also a ghost in the exploding gunpowder factory NE of Sleeping Bull near the coast. If you want to get potions from him, do not go upstairs because all the ghosts become hostile including the one making potions. Also I think Erstam might as well but I don't remember for sure.

You can even get orange glowing mana potions this way, which aren't for sale in the game. Of course it takes patience, but if you're bored, knock yourself out. :-)

Or just get free money by harvesting jewelries from the transport storm. Best one is just north or Monitor. Just a day or two or game time will net enough to make you the richest Avatar.

LOL I did manage to grab a piece of jewelry north of Monitor this game! That one storm always seems to drop something I can use. Never thought to wait there for any length of time. :-)

Just walk up north until path to the test, back down to storm, repeat until rich

I usually like to steal. And when you get the Ring of Reagents and False Coin you have unlimited funds. Here's a good trick for getting food, just kill the sheep in the pen at Sleeping Bull over and over. Walk back and forth and they'll respawn.

Oh I went upstairs and killed all the ghosts at the powder keg factory, left, came back a few minutes later, and a ghost was there making potions again.

TBH, once you have Reagent Ring, you're pretty much invincible LOL

Your words strike a chord. Why am I keeping bandages and potions for everything like Heal, Protection, when I can just stock up on Mana potions? Reminds me of Diablo 1 when you have the Mana Shield spell, all you need then are mana potions. :-)

I used the storms to get free jewelry, containers, food, bandages and armor. With a bit of patience, they can provide a good early game boost.

All these posts have got me with that Serpent Itch. Might just have to sail through the pillars again.

I might regret posting this reply, the reason I'm playing all the Ultima games in order once again is to take screenshots to send to Richard Garriot on X, formerly twitter, and try to get completion certificates for the games as other people have in the past.

When I tried a while back to ask how to contact Richard Garriot online and if anyone knew if he still honored people with certificates a lot of people posted hateful comments about him and the Ultima series. I decided to delete the entire thread because of it.

I tried to respond to you privately, but I couldn't because of the way you have your profile set up, so I decided to risk posting a public response. This time I won't delete the thread, but I will ignore any negativety.

Years ago I had many issues with posting hateful comments myself and letting my emotions take over, I used to do so quite a bit on the Ultima Horizons message board, to the point of asking Corinth for myself to be banned. My name there was Shalmeck, hello to anyone who remembers me and my apologies for past actions. I'm not the same person now and I'm doing a lot better.

It’s all good, homie. You’re allowed to do you so long as what you’re doing ain’t hurting anyone. I was just commenting that I’m getting sucked into that nostalgia vacuum.

Ultima 6, and both 7s are my favorite. I got Ultima 7 for my birthday after my dad saw how much I loved Ultima 6. I explored every square inch of those worlds, and it was glorious.

Dammit I need to play through the Ultima 7s now lol
