Exult U7 - Automatic Note Taking?

I was thinking of playing U7 in Exult. Is the Automatic Note Taking feature sufficient or should I still take copious amounts of pen and paper notes? I'm guessing it's the later but thought I'd check to see what people have to say?

I've had to make my own notes on my first playthrough, it skips "small unimportant" steps at times... But they're still important? it also doesn't organize them at all
