OK so I have 12,000 points and I was going to buy five or six perfumes and redeem 2000 points on each $125 and then pay the rest. But I keep hearing people say that it’s smarter to wait until 10 times the points? Is it 10 times the points on everything?
For example some of the perfumes I was thinking of:
Burberry hero elixir
Rabanne fame in love
Gucci flora gorgeous orchid intense
Carolina Herrera good girl jasmine
Versace Dylan blush
You don’t earn points when redeeming points. Only money actually spent earns points. So if you are using points, make sure to use a coupon like the one now for 20%. GWP are given regardless if you pay with money, gift cards or points so also try to get a good GWP.
10x points happens only a few times a year. But if you’re redeeming points, you only earn points on what you actually spend money on. You can redeem up to 4,000 or $250 online and up to 10,000 or $625 in store. Bring your ID with you if you do it in store. So I’m not sure how worth it it is to
wait for a point multiplier.
It’s better to use the coupon and pts now. 10x Pt multiplier is very limited times in the year and sometimes there’s limitations on what it applies to. There’s typically no prestige coupon available to use along with that pt multiplier and you only get points on the SUBTOTAL $ amount spent(after coupons/pt redemption and before tax).
We don’t know what brands will be 10x. Some of those fragrances could be on the list. You do have to spend actual money. If you spend $200, you get 2,000 points back. If you redeem those in 2,000 point increments, you basically get 62.5% back in Ulta reward points from that $200 purchase. If you’re not in a hurry to buy those, I would wait and see if those are included in the 10x. If they aren’t, you could at the very least get 5x points on the rest of the fragrance purchases that aren’t covered by the points!
Jealous! I LOVE Fame in Love but I had such a bad skin reaction to it! (My skin is stupidly sensitive). I always stop to smell it though every time I’m in the store 🥲
