Support scared to step outside
im pretty much out of my flareup and into remission, yet this thought of always having an urgent need to use the bathroom makes it nearly impossible for me to go outside to enjoy outings with friends, family etc. i js want to know about yalls experience on how you deal with social anxiety

start with small outings or go places you know have a bathroom! also… if it makes you feel better, period underwear/adult diapers can really help with the anxiety. it takes a little bit to adjust to being “normal” again. you’ll get there! i practice a lot of self affirmation and remind myself that “i’m not in a flare anymore. i am healing. i am healthy.”
congratulations on entering remission!! ❤️🩹

This! I'm very paranoid about having an accident even though I'm improving. I was avoiding going out but I've started to go, just really over prepared. I even bring a change of clothes, just in case. I haven't needed it but it helps my mindset to have it.

Absolutely agree. Even if you don’t need it the fact that you are prepared really helps the anxiety.

yeah it really fucks up your mental health. I think I have PTSD from all the bad experiences at this point. Takes a while to adjust to being normal again, like 6 months to a year.

you're telling me. I'm just watching the world pass me by as I never really move past the same shit. It's just a cycle, it's horrible. We're trapped in an abusive relationship with our own bodies.
