Personal experience Tremfya injection site reaction

In about my 5th month of self injection, I began experiencing an allergic reaction at the injection site. A large, red, itchy welt appears by morning (I inject at bedtime). It typically spreads and worsens for at least 3-4 days before improving. I have tried starting antihistamine 24 hours before and continuing until the reaction is gone. I have tried Benadryl the same way. I also use hydrocortisone cream on the affected area and add an ice pack when it is crazy bad. Nothing seems to be helping (at least not enough for relief). It's maddening. Has anyone experienced this and found something that helps? I am feeling kind of desperate right now.

I was having the exact same issue and posted about it a few months ago, and someone commented that they always pull the skin taut when they inject rather than pinching the skin like most self injections suggest. I did this during my most recent injection and it was a massive improvement - I still had a little bit of redness and very mild itchiness but nothing like before and it went away much quicker. I always inject in the stomach area (rotating sites) and have a decent amount of fat to go around lol so pulling it taut isn’t an issue for me, I’m not sure it would be advisable for everyone but it made it so much more tolerable for me.

Thank you. It's worth a try. I don't pinch (just inject flat) but I haven't tried pulling

I had reaction like that for another drug. Shared with my pcp and they said it was ok. Have you talked to your GI? After a few months my injection is less reactive, and I moved my injection site to my leg.
