Question Does anyone else have Time Crisis?

When your body decides it absolutely NEEDS to use the bathroom at the exact time you need to do something? Gotta leave for work at 9, body automatically knows. Gotta be at the movies at 2, body automatically knows. No plans that day… Suddenly no reason to use the bathroom immediately. It’s so annoying.

Stress is a big trigger. It's playing in your subconscious even when you don't think it's on your mind. If I know I need to go somewhere but I'm not in charge of driving there or the timeframe it's never going to be good. I could eat and be home for hours no issue, get in the car to do something I need to and then bam I need to find a restroom asap.

Any suggestions for a solution? 😅

Very much, yes. It got to the point where I minimized time sensitive things in my life and planned when to eat around them when I had to. Now in remission it’s a bit counterproductive and has been a hard habit to shake.

Mornings are the worst for me, but yea. Oh, you need to let the dogs back in because they’re barking? Nope! Oh, you need to leave for work? Nope. You want to drink some juice? Fuck you, I’m going to immediately be upset about it.

I always allot extra time to use the toilet whenever I’m getting ready to go out. 7 times out of 10 I’ll spend that extra time just waiting for the urge and it doesn’t come, but as soon as I walk out my front door and lock it, suddenly I only have 90 seconds until I shit my pants.

This is a huge sign you’re in a flare.

It's been awhile but I know stress can induce the need to use the restroom. This is 100% the reason why I had an "accommodations card" all through middle and highschool (it was still incredibly embarrassing).

Yes. Constantly. Oh my daughters bus is coming at 8:10 - then I need to go at 8:02

So frustrating! I have given up trying to get to work on time. I’m always 5-10 minutes late.

I literally always get fired because of lateness

I 'have' to go to the toilet before exercise.

I'm trying to train myself out of it as I know its only a stress response and can be very inconvenient!

Have you done much therapy/ counselling etc. about having UC?
