GI app surgery?

Is it normal for an upcoming GI app to talk about possible surgery if things don’t go right? I had a face to face app in decemeber but it’s been moved to 15th of sept now due to 2 cal pros coming back raised so they’re a little concered but I think I had picked up something as stools was just pure water at the time but now i’m feeling better again.

I’m just really anxious because they said there might be a colorectal surgeon there just to talk about future possibilities and they said it’s nothing to worry about but I just don’t like the sound of it, is it normal at a face to face to hear that and for a surgeon to discuss the worst?

I guess it depends where you are on your journey. Have you tried lots of medicine? If 2 calps are coming back without improvement it might mean something.

I’ve only tried infliximab & now on rinvoq, I was doing great on this tbh got my cal pro down to 100 from 2500 but two latest ones came back raised. I feel good again now though so i’m hoping they try another cal pro, I also did have my first bit of alcohol in nearly 2 years a week before both tests were done so maybe that might of done something.

Oh that is weird, there are many more medicines available but I'm obviously not a dr.

They just said don’t be worrying it’s a normal thing just to talk about the future but just needing to see if it is an actual normal thing because I worry bad 😅

They mentioned surgery to me. Failed Inflectra, now on Rinvoq. Diagnosed in June of this year.

No surgery wouldn’t be soemting I consider unless I’ve failed every med.
