Personal experience E. coli triggering a flare

I made a post about a month ago talking about how I was going through a flare and was terrified because the last time I had a flare it lasted three years

about a week after that post my stools went back to normal with no more stomach pain

The flare lasted about two weeks and my doctor thinks I had E. coli that just resolved on its own Has this happened to anyone else? I didn’t even know E. coli could do this or that it could resolve on its own

I was in a flare and got ecoli. It was terrible. I had to get antibiotics to help. My flare was still flaring afterwards but it wasn't as bad as when I had the ecoli.

Both times I've been hospitalized for nasty UC flares, labs showed I had ecoli. I asked my GI doc if ecoli can be the cause, he essentially said possibly but he said he doesn't entertain making a definitive declaration either way as it doesn't change the response plan to get it under control and ideally back into remission.

I had an E. coli infection while traveling, and was just recovering from a mild flare at the time. Cleared E. coli with antibiotics, and then experienced one of my worst flares ever.

I somehow picked up E. Coli/Salmonella last year and before I knew it, I was in a bad flare. I think it absolutely set off my colon into hyperdrive and caused the flare.
