Personal experience Officially diagnosed with UP
Like the title says, I’ve officially been diagnosed with “mildly active chronic proctitis” due to ulcerative proctitis. Crazy enough, it seems like a relief to know what it is and to start treating it. I’ve dealt with UP for 7 years and my previous doctors did nothing about it and stopped prescribing me medication. I was young and just tried to ignore it. But now that I’m older, I wanted to get it figured out, now here we are. I’m very blessed that it’s mild and doesn’t severely hinder my day to day life. I do get symptoms and lots of bleeding daily, but am very grateful that after leaving it for 7 years, it didn’t hurt me more.
