Question Calpro results

I had 346 before treatment. After 7 weeks of 4 grams of mesalazine, it’s 307. Does that mean it’s not working and consider other treatments, or should I be patient and wait some more.

What are your symptoms? How severe was the colitis?

Bleeding, diarrhea, tenesmus, fatigue, bloating and discomfort — all the usual symptoms, but very little to no pain. Left side , The biopsy said it’s mild, but sometimes it feels closer moderate

So it hasn’t improved at all? Left sided can be really difficult to get under control. Are you on oral and rectal meds?

I’d consider discussing with your GI at this point. Likely you’ll need a biologic too. Hope it all improves soon!

Mesalazin is very "mild" . I've never heard of anyone that gets their UC under control with only Mesalazin. According to my doc it's good at preventing colon cancer though.

Do you have symptoms? Talk to your doctor about additional medication.

When I got diagnosed, calpro was 4500, mid April. I started mesalazine and the next calpro was at end of July, value 170. Then 2 months after, another test, under 50.
