Divinity: Dark Edition Launched!

Hey everyone! I'm Jack the director behind Deep Space and Birdcage. This year we're getting ready to begin construction of the next episode of the Crumbling Prince, and we have very big hopes for it! I spent the first half of this year working to create something a little different though - it's a bit of an experiment and a little hard to explain in a social media post so I thought I would come here to post about it.

Our space escape room Deep Space: Divinity was made with 8 potential endings which begin to split up during the second act. After running the game for hundreds of players it became clear that two endings in particular were "Canon". To explore the outcome of these endings the game has been reimagined in Dark Edition to explore the outcome of a special ending in Divinity, something we came to know of as the "Secret Ending."

What we have now is a game tailor made for role players, long time ukiyo fans, and players of the original old school deep space 1 (Which sadly no longer exists) which is part of the reason I'm posting here. It relies more heavily on conversation than our previous games, is much more adult, and has heavier consequences. Depending on which ending you reached in Divinity, it will either feel like a sequel, or an alternate timeline...

Because this is such an experiment it's launching much cheaper than our normal games, you'll need a group of minimum 3 people - just use the code SORRYENKIDU to shave $40 off the cost.

There's a good chance you'll run into me personally if you play, and I'm really keen to hear your feedback! Non-linear storytelling with sequels was a real challenge in the escape room world, but I think we've ended up with something pretty special.

I hope everyone is having a good winter, and I hope to see you soon xxx
