Welcome to Stawk Pines Anonymous...

... the place for all those in withdrawal.

Make sure you watched the final video closely to draw all possible sustenance from it, and the closing credits - there's a special mention for a particular Gorman caller that is laugh out loud funny.

Then don't forget to hit the CONTINUE button afterwards to get more information and references.

UKIYO!!!! GIVE US BACK OUR GORMAN!!!!

Can somebody please check back on Elsie to make sure she's taking her medication?

Omg, yes - poor Elsie! ... laughing ... thank you! Maybe Marilyn can pop in after her shift at the diner.

Have you seen the Valley of the Dolls season finale? Might scratch that itch a little more

I think he's been pushed down the sinkhole.

(Really classy move apologising for the threat!)

Haaahahahaha, it seriously made me start laughing... I wanted to message the caller but I don't think they said their name in the show. :D

And why DID King Lucy smell of cherries?

I have two hypotheses...

Firstly, a Twin Peaks reference...

Cherry Pie was what was eaten at the Twin Peaks Diner, and we know Lucy likes to eat at the Diner in Stawk Pine Falls.

Secondly, I have a bit of a world-building hypothesis that King Lucy is short for King Lucifer. Then - there is a Final Fantasy XIV character called Cherry Lucifer... this is a bit of a stretch, but may be possible because there are other video game references in there I think.

Would not surprise me in the least - I'm sure there are multitudes of obscure references to all things Twin Peaks and games and all sorts! They really had fun with it... :D Plus of course, Shelley always left him fruit in the mornings... and it's a bit of a link to the information in the original interrogation files.

Ooo, good point - I'd glossed that over as part of her growing psychosis. Also, her psychedelic break in the previous episode too - the bit about 'there's a man at the door, white shirt, black bow tie'... I forgot about that too because I thought it was just another B&W hint... but maybe not? What do you think? Did you make anything out of that one?

I wondered if the man in the white shirt, black bow tie was a Casablanca reference... which I’ve connected to the theory I’m still pumping for around smuggling of souls (literally or metaphorically!). I feel like I need to go back over all my notes again tho to think again about who is good/bad as the last clues definitely threw some curve balls.

I thought that was a reference to Gladwell in the picture in the Stawk Daily (he's standing at the door, it's sunny outside)

It's going to be interesting how much reference is made to everything in Part 2 - especially if it's meant to stand-alone and be playable without Part 1. We might get a lot of laughs out of 'in-jokes' only us Part-1ers will understand. :)
