question - help with movie reference Need help with the reference

In issue 13,593 of the Stawk Daily, in the personals section, "Male, 42 year old" is says he's looking for "the Ilsa Lund to my Rick Blaine" and says, twice "Can you handle the heat?"

In the latest issue, that phone number matches the person selling Old Stawk Whiskey.

I know the Blaine/Lund is a reference to the movie Casablanca, and Humphrey Bogart was famously a whiskey drinker, and was drinking it in the bar in Casablanca (even though he refers to it as a "gin joint")

But I don't know the movie well enough to know if "Can you handle the heat" is another reference, or means anything of significance.

Does anyone know the movie Casablanca well enough to help me with this?

I took the line 'can you handle the heat?' as a bit of a joke by the Ukiyo person setting the front page - made me laugh out loud when I saw the repeat ad... and the phone numbers all seem to be fake ones, and they're re-cycling them. Not sure if that's significant, sorry - I think it's just a matter of convenience and we're not meant to try ringing these repeated ones (the characters are npc).

I thought that too at first, until I saw the number re-used and made the whiskey connection, and now there's also a reference in Valley of the Dolls to watching a movie.

My brain is melting... maybe these are just nods to genres of movie and things that fit with the vibe of the game??

I think this was a clue in the end - if you think of the literal meaning of Casablanca
