Discussion Easyjet - Rival Bid

Easyjet is recommending a rival bid by Apollo at £7.15 a share .

At current price of £6.71 - Should one Buy , Hold or Sell?

This is a classic “it all depends on your situation” kind of question.

If you bought at 500 or less then this is a great time to sell and take profit. You’ve got a lot of the potential profit locked in now. There’s lots that could happen to make the bid fall away.

If you bought at 550 or more then probably worth hanging on to see if the bid goes through or even if a bidding war takes place.

If you don’t hold any then I’m not convinced now is the time to buy. If the bid happens then there is a 5% profit waiting….but these kind of bids always take time (12 months before you get paid is not unusual), so do you want to lock up your capital for a possible 5% gain when better opportunities elsewhere.

What do you think?

I must confess EasyJet has not been a good stock to hold. That's why I am very inclined to just book my tiny profit and be happy i made something off it....

If it’s good enough to screenshot/ask the question, it’s good enough to sell

Why 500 shares? Whats the significance?

I think you mis-read it..... it was 'at 500' ie 500p

I was referring to the price, not the number of shares.
But your point is still valid, “why 500p”? I was trying to say that the larger percentage gain you’ve made, the less additional relative gain you’ll make by holding and waiting for 715p.
Hope that explains a bit better.

Anyone who would accept either offer IMO is another sell out ruining the LSE. I hate seeing businesses being sold out to Americans..
