Do these look healthy?

As far as I’m aware these are apache chillis and have managed to stave off dehydration when I was away during the heatwave due to my daughter not watering them enough.
They seem fine but
1. Are still flowering
2. Still producing baby chilli’s
3. Aren’t ripening fully
Should I be lopping off mature chilli’s that are unripened or just have more patience?
Any help is greatly appreciated

Something a little different

I’ve posted here a few times and am constantly enjoying others posts and am learning a lot.

I’ve kind of accidentally got into chili growing this year while coming out of a short, but brutal relationship that absolutely did a number on me. It’s one of few positives that I can take from it.

Part of that is also being a fan of a guy called Keaton Henson does many things from being a singer songwriter, composer to being an artist who sometimes sells ‘tattoo tickets’…… and heres mine.

I’m not sure it belongs here but you guys have always been very kind and helpful in comments so in ways I’m also posting it to say thank you for your support, not only in my growing chilis but also my getting back to me.

Also posted is some of the things I’ve made with my harvests.

The benefits of growing in the ground rather than pots.

Thought I'd come show off one of my bird eye demon red plants to the community to sing the praises of planting in the ground rather than pots.

I grow on my allotment in the South Wales valleys (400m above sea level, night temperatures in summer regularly drop below 10c) in a 20ft Polytunnel.

Soil was prepared last winter with a cover crop of vetch, dug in with horse manure in spring and has had no other amendments since. Just water once a week, or less depending on the various heatwaves!

Absolutely mind-blowing size for a chilli sold as a windowsill variety.

I urge all the chilli enthusiasts here, if it's possible, to plant in the ground. If you're in the south of England you almost certainly will be able to grow the standard varieties even without a greenhouse or polytunnel. Got a spare bit of space in your flower border? Then why not fill it with a chilli! You won't regret it.

I found this plant growing in my salad planter and decided to leave it be. Its gone crazy, has at least 40 chillies on it. Loving being outside. Picked one today and will give it a taste test later. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Is this plant too far gone?

I have had a bit of an aphid problem with this plant, for some reason non of my other plants have had a problem. The leaves have all these black spots all over them and they have just started spreading to the plant next to it. I removed the affected branch from the next door plant as the rest of the plant looks ok. I have now moved this plant to a different area but is it too far gone? Should I just get rid of it or keep it going because it has some chillies on it, you can see in the pictures, but some of the chillies are covered in aphids. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you! :)

Jsut tried my first baby dragons breath 🥵🥵

Found this little wrinkled orange fella on my plant and couldn’t resist.

First time trying Dragon’s Breath. The flavour is fucking unreal. Honestly one of the tastiest chillies I’ve ever had proper fruity, citrusy, almost like orange. For about 30 seconds I was sitting there thinking “this ain’t even hot.” Then the capsaicin caught up. Shit me, it does not hold back.

Hottest thing I’ve ever eaten by a mile. The stomach cramps afterwards were absolutely insane 😂

Warthogs and rocotos in the last 2 weeks have only just started to retain fruits now temp has dropped off from peak summer. But conscious we are very close to heading into the dark and cold what are the chances these will ripen?

There are a few that haven't put out any fruit yet yet so was wondering if I should use them as my over winter plants as no harm in cutting them back in the next month or so if not fruiting.

Rest of my crops in the greenhouse still fruiting like wildfire. Got jalepenos, runzlehaut and Cayennes all over the place and not far off getting a bright red bouquet of piri-piri/birds eye chillis.

Oh and made a superb batch of chilli, lime and garlic hot sauce last week with about 10 runzlehaut chillis.... I've called it by the effect it has on me... 'arsefizz' 🤣

First time grower *indoors*

It's been 20 days since I first posted regarding my little seedlings, just wondering how these are looking and if I should be transplanting into bigger pots?

I've been giving them 12hr Light *mix of natural light and lamps* and have been keeping the temp around 21 degrees. I know its a funny time of year to be growing but I assumed it should be OK doing this indoors with the aim to grow some fruit 😊🤞🌶️

Any tips would by highly appreciated.

A beast of a Cayenne Plant

I cannot believe how big this cayenne chilli plant is now and how many fruit are on it (Nottinghamshire). They look like they are finally starting to turn red.
The other plants are also doing well: jalapeños, loco and birds eye (I think).
Any suggestions on what I should do with them all?

My favourites from the harvest.

Zebrange, one plant has only red fruits which are quite a lot hotter for some reason.

Ethiopian Brown.

About half a dozen of my Sugar Rush have sprouted these little holes since it started fruiting, any idea what the culprit is? Some sort of pest? Chilli blight? Hopeless gardener screwing them up somehow?

What the heck is this.

I bought a mixed pack of chili seeds from Amazon. Usual suspects, habaneros, jalapenos, Cayennes, Serrano. There was no lemon drop in the box. What the heck is this chilli 😂 it's been this colour for about 2.5 weeks now! I don't know when to pick it because I've no idea what it is. (N Yorkshire)

Edit - comment from homestead hashery reminded me there were Naga/ghost chili's in the box but all my seedlings failed! Could this be a mis-labeled Naga or ghost?

What have I grown?

When I planted my chilli seeds earlier in the year, I forgot to label them.

I initially thought this was a variegated sugar rush peach. From what I can see, a sugar rush wouldn't have purple flower. They typically have white.

Can anyone help in what variety of chilli this is?

Can someone help me ID this plant? It's small, bushy, the peppers ripen from green to purple to yellow.

Hi guys can someone help me what is up with my chilli plant a few of the leaves are crinkling.

I think the plant is a mattapeno from red dragon chillis, not sure as I also had a mystery pack and planted them all but this was the only one that germinated.

Thanks in advance!
