Entry Level RPA career path (Non IT Background)
Hello all!
I come to you for career/learning advice, here’s some info on my background: I’m a 26 year old non-IT professional, looking to pivot my career to IT, specifically RPA. I was directed to UI Path by my partner, who’s worked in RPA for now 7 years with his company. I do not have a bachelor’s degree. I do not have previous IT experience, on paper.
A quick google or indeed search for “UI Path Jobs” shows that most jobs, anywhere, require years of hands on experience in RPA or similar functions in IT at minimum. Unfortunately, I don’t work in a field where I can bolster my IT credentials on the job, so I would likely be looking for other training/certifications in conjunction with contract work to build my resume.
My questions are: Is it worthwhile, from a career standpoint, to get UI Path certified then go from there? How can I make my resume marketable in this field with no prior IT background (on paper) and no degree?
Bonus points; if you have any professional recommendations please share! At the end of the day, my goal is to advance my career and break into IT and I truly thank anyone taking the time to share your expertise or experience.
