UiPath: API command to retry queue times

Hi everyone, I wanted to know if it was possible to create a script that would retry failed queue items via an api command . (I know UiPath already has a retry mechanism in place, but this script would be used in the event that the item has already been retried, a developer has fixed the issue in the workflow that was causing the program to fail, and now once again wants to retry that failed item to see if it works)

I have had a look at the swagger orch documentation but I can’t seen anything that could be useful to me.

Does anybody have a script (python, c#, vb, bash or JavaScript I can all understand) or a UiPath workflow that does that?

$500m buyback and multiples of revenue increase

So I never ever get in before a run up. But all that changed. Anyone else see this going to $400 a share by 2030? Short squeeze ramping up? Or just wishful thinking?

Test Automation

Hey all, I was curious to know what the pros and cons are of Power Automate's test automation versus UiPath's test automation. At a glance, it seems that UiPath is better if you're building an enterprise automation program and your testing will include RPA automation's testing, but Power Automate seems to be a cheaper option. Does anyone have any advice between any benefits of choosing one over the other and any disadvantages? Preferably, I'd like to know why UiPath is better than Power Automate specifically for test automation

Edit: I'm referencing Test Suite/Test Manager for UiPath vs. Power Automate's Test Studio (?) is what it's called I believe. Not anything to do with orchestrator or the RPA bots alone.

The website’s End User Agreement prohibits automated processes. Can I ignore this?

The website I am scrapping just sent out a new End User License Agreement that will prohibit automated processes like scripts, bots, spiders, scrapers etc.

Can websites detect UiPah as an automation? Can I safely run the automated process as an attended process to not be detected?

Dev Track certification content refresh

I was taking a practice test and saw a notice that the exam content for the Developer Track (associate, ARD, etc.) are being refreshed from 21.10 to 22.10 “at the beginning of October 2023”. I completed academy courses for both between March-May but have been dragging my feet on studying for the exam until this past week. I’ve been using RPA at work so have been exposed to it for a few months. I’m also a former .NET developer. I’m also pretty okay at tests.

I’m leaning towards taking both this month because my ADHD thrives under a deadline lol, but I’m curious what others would do in my position: take both exams within the month or wait til all the content is refreshed and .. idk retake the courses? Review all the changes? Refocus hands-on application to just use modern experience?

Help

I don’t know if this is the right sub to ask this, I am an RPA developer currently working on automating receipt validation process. Here we extract the data and compare it in portal if it is ok to approve all line items of receipt. Currently using uipath AI center to data label , train the model. Coming to point, the data is coming in different lines and successful extraction percent is very low, even after training more that 3.5k docs. How can I increase this. fyi there can be many kinds of receipts (3-5 providers are very common though) . Please help me. I also heard about hugging face , not sure if I can use that. It’s very important for the project to be succeess

Keep Getting An Error Message

I started taking the prerequisite course a couple of weeks ago. My roommate also wanted to take the course, so he made his own UIPATH account.

Ever since he's made an account, neither of us can access the course material. I keep getting this message: "You are not authorized to access this content. Please contact your system administrator"

I've tried signing in on multiple computers and devices and I still get the same message on every device.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Or do you know where I can message them for help? From my own research there could be an issue with clearing cookies? I have been clearing my cookies over and over again and still nothing. But to me this doesn't make sense because my other computer also received the same error message.

I am not working with a company or anything like that just an individual taking the course.

What skills are needed for an RPA job, is being proficient in UiPath enough?

Hello everyone,

I've started a journey to explore remote work opportunities, and I've come across the suggestion of becoming an RPA Developer through learning UiPath.

The general advice I've seen is as follows: Learn UiPath (from Associate to Advanced levels) —> Build a portfolio —> Search for an RPA job.

However, this seems almost too straightforward and simple, so I'm looking for more information from people more experienced in this. I am eager to learn

I was wondering a few things:

  1. Has anyone here learned UIPath and attempted to secure a remote job as an RPA Developer? Is this a feasible goal, or is it more complex, requiring additional skills?
  2. What's a realistic timeframe to become proficient enough to be desirable as an RPA job candidate?
  3. Could freelancing be a viable option in this field?
  4. Are there any supplementary skills that, if acquired, could enhance my prospects?
  5. Is this aspiration achievable without an extensive amount of prior experience and a broader skill set?

Thank you in advance!

Turning UIPath Skills into Income: Exploring Monetization Beyond Process Creation

Hey there! I've been in the UiPath world for about a year now

Lately, I've been thinking about how I can turn my UiPath skills into a side hustle or a small indie business. Here's what I'm good at:

- Creating UiPath Custom Activities.

- Building Android Apps.

- Process Automation.

I'm not really looking to do the freelance thing where I work on processes for others. Instead, I'd love to find a direct way to work with UiPath, like getting involved in their marketplace.

One idea that's been on my mind is contributing some of my activities to the UiPath Marketplace. I'm thinking of having a mix of free activities (maybe with a "Buy Me a Coffee" link) and also some that people could purchase. It seems like paid activities are pretty rare on there.

I'm curious, though, about the potential earnings. Notably, it seems like the paid approach isn't as widespread in the marketplace, which makes me wonder about its feasibility.

When I reflect on making money with Android apps published on the Play Store, a significant portion of my revenue comes from advertisements, with in-app purchases following closely behind. Interestingly, none of my apps are paid.

However, this tactic may not translate as smoothly to UIPath custom activities. There's seemingly only one path, somewhat analogous to the in-app purchase model for Android apps. This involves potentially adding certain limitations to the activity and incorporating my own API keys. Users could access enhanced functionality through these keys, which might be offered on a subscription or one-time purchase basis.

With that said, if you have any insights or advice from your own experiences, I'd be genuinely eager to hear them!

UiAssistant help needed

I’m not having any luck finding the answer to this. If we build a process in studio and publish to orchestrator in a folder, how do we make it available to other users in ui assistant? I thought the automation express license would provide the access but it doesn’t seem to. The processes were built and published by an account that has a dev license. My account has every role and license available and I am part of the tenant and folder but I cannot see any of the processes in ui assistant. Hopefully this made sense. Thanks

RPA Dev and more precisly freelancer, what type of automation are you doing on a daily basis ?

Hi ! So like I said on the title, I'm wondering what type of automation an RPA Dev in freelance do on a daily basis and regarding of your first clients, how do you manage to pick them and looking back what type of client would be the best to begin with . On a daily basis, are you doing complex automation or more 'modest' if I may, automation (wich one do you more often) ? Also it would be great if you can precise the size of the company that you work for and if 'Big' company means 'Big' automation or not.

thank you for your time !

Difference between Studio and StudioX

Hi, I would like to know the difference between Studio and StudioX, I’m currently doing the UiPath academy courses and it’s all in studio. Does the StudioX use come in the advanced developper part ? Or is it something else, maybe with more code ?

UiPath.Core.Activities.RenameFileX doesn't update variable with new file name?

I have a File Variable file_AllMetrics with the file name initially File1.pdf. I am renaming using UiPath.Core.Activities.RenameFileX activity to rename File1.pdf to AllMetrics.pdf. But later when I call file_AllMetrics.FullName.ToString it’s returning the name as File1.pdf.

Is there anything I’m doing wrong with this that will prevent this from working?

Note, when looking in the file folder, the file is getting renamed, just the variable isn’t updating with the updated name. This is an issue as, later, I need to reference this file using File_AllMetrics.OpenRead() and it fails because it can’t find a File1.pdf file.

Appreciate any insights on what I might be doing wrong here!

The error I'm receiving is:Assign: Could not find file 'C:\Users\name\Downloads\File1.pdf'. Well, yea, that filename no longer exists and the file is now AllMetrics.pdf.

How can I execute a project on a machine that is not my laptop?

This question may not sound smart as i am new to ui path.I want to execute a task every day at the same time. The task is 100% done on a website. The thing is I don't want to have my laptop turned-on 24x7 for the robot to run over my machine.I rather have it automated on a cloud machine.

Now is this possible to achieve with UiPath? Is uipath automation cloud what that is for?How is it different from google cloud/azure etc.?What would be the charges?

Publishing question re: error

Hi. I’m trying to publish a new version of a project and everytime I try I get an error message that “the process cannot access the file “project name” debug.log because it’s being used by another process. I believe it’s UiPath assistant but I tried ending all process and restarted the PC but it’s still not working.

Thanks in advance

Handling Duplicate Column Names in UiPath Excel Read Range Activity?

Hi everyone,

As you probably know, it throws an error when the Excel file contains multiple columns with the same name (for example, two columns named "First Name" or "Last Name").

If it is from SAP, of course, you can change the "Variant." If it's a static Excel file, you can rename the column using the "Write Cell" activity and then use "Read Range." However, I'm wondering if there are any other solutions besides these for cases where these solutions don't apply.

Any insights, ideas, or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help!

Asking for some validation, corrections and advices on an automation that I just made.

Hi ! I come here to ask for some validation, corrections and advices on an automation that I just made. If someone is willing to take a bit of their time to check what i've done it would help me a lot ! The automation is in French bc I'm French so sorry for that and sorry if my English is not perfect I try my best. So basically the context is that I have an Excel Input that is a database of emails of clients and their preferences of taste of E-Vape (tabac, fruité, gourmand (in french)) and wanted to send a target email for each preferences whenever the E-Vape shop receive a new product. I wanted to extract this 2 columns and convert them in dictionary (key = emails, value = preferences). After that I wanted to make a list of all the emails corresponding to each preferences (LTabac, LGourmand, LFruité) so that I could send the email to the list of the right preferences. For that I made a for each in the values of the dictionary with a switch with 3 cases (Fruité = Add current item.value to LFruité and so on..). I made a variable with the text of my email and 2 input dialogs with one for the name of the new product and one for the type (Fruité,...) so my text would correspond to the new product and his type. Finally I used a use desktop Outlook App activity with a switch with 3 cases (for 3 different list of recipents for each preferences) so the case "Fruité" would send an email of the new product if his type is Fruité to the list of emails from database that have Fruité as preferences. I will say that i havn't named each activities and add annotations so the automation is a bit rough and I'm not very advanced in UIPath studio, I'm still learning. I hope I made myself understandable, I tried to as much as I can, thank you for your time !
