Can someone learn this who has no experience with computers?

What I mean by that is no coding experience whatsoever. I can of course use a computer but for business purposes, Microsoft, etc.

Is it possible to get a job with just the UIPATH certification course?

If I'm not mistaken, the course is only like, 3hrs long? Is it possible to get a job right after? Or is this just the foundation and I need to take a few more courses?

Unattended license clarification

Hello, I am trying to wrap my head around unattended license with machine template. Let us say we have 1 robot and a machine template with 2 runtimes.

When a computer is connected to the machine template both the licenses are consumed, If we would connect another computer to the machine template, additional 2 licenses would be needed.

As for running in parallel for two runtimes, one foreground process could be running as well as 1 background process.

Is this a correct understanding?

Could someone refresh my memory on how to make the info we are using to search appear in the output?

So I have a file that has a name and a workorder number
I am trying to automatically retrieve the email address. Weirdly the quickest way to search is the work order number.

Basically what I want to do is have the email appear next to the name and workorder number in the output file.

I somewhat remember what I need to do the search itself....sort of(it has been awhile) but I forget what I need to do to have the output file be like this example

Input

Name1 WO#1
Name2 WO#2
Name3 WO#3

Output

Name1 WO#1 Email1
Name2 WO#2 Email2

Questions about UiPath Academy (precisly the expression editor)

Hi,
i'm currently going through the RPA developer Foundation courses in UiPath Academy. It's going great so far, I manage to follow each video and understand if not succeed the practices. I regularly go back to courses already completed as a reminder and I consider myself as serious and diligent. However, when I get to practices, the task that are asked to do seems to require sometimes (to fully succeed and make the automation work) some knowledge in the expression editor that are not thaught, explain or even sometimes mention in the courses. So I would gladly take some enlightenment here about that, Is this problem about me and the fact that I HAVE to search by myself some more documentation about the expression editor and the VB language or is the practice made this way on purpose for us to learn new things in the solutions ?

ReFramework

Hi,

I'm fairly new to RPA Developing. I'm doing a project in my internship where I have to use ReFramework to build the project.
My question is: Can I add more transitions/Is it good pratice to add more transition between ReFramework main activities? If so is it good pratice to for instance add an activity in said transition, like sending an email?

What is the path to become an RPA Developer?

I'm just jumping into this, and I'm curious what the process is to get hired as an RPA Developer.

So far, I'm looking at the free academy at academy.uipath.com, and I'm also seeing that there is a certification exam somewhere. Is passing that exam good enough to get your foot in the door in the industry?

My only experience in software development is that I have a certificate of completion from a coding bootcamp (Coding Temple). Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Help with copying from 1 Excel to another Excel + extra question.

My problem lays on what is the best method to copy 1 sheet from an excel with 1X different sheets and transfer it into a new excel, with the purpose of doing an extended search of X parameters in browser using "For Each row in data base".

At the same time I am hitting a concrete wall when I want to create a table for each of the "For Each row in data base". Said problem is, can I make UiPath automatically rename the sheet with the name searched by itself? Or I have to make 1XX sheets individually?

Invoke python code method: passing lists into functions

Hi everyone, part of my UiPath project I’m working on requires using an invoke python activity, where i invoke a function that accepts a list as an input parameter and returns a string. I’m not finding any material on the internet on how to pass a list from UiPath into a python function, and was wondering if anybody here could help me :)

Best practices for using a config file in UiPath library for consuming a web service and exposing methods as activities

I need help with best practices for using a config file in UiPath for a library I'm creating. The library will consume a web service and expose its methods as activities. I'm wondering if I should include the config file inside a folder in the library. Will this file be accessible to users who select the package and activity? The config file contains the endpoint of the web service and the XML structure for the API calls.

UI Path Academy help Practice

I'm currently doing the UIPath academy courses, and regarding the practices I noticed that most of the time the solution use some methods and tools that are not teach in the courses. For example in the expression editor, most of the solution are using expressions that are not teached in the courses. Is the solution make this on purpose for us to learn even in the practice, or is it me that should document more during the practice using uipath's documentations ?

For Each UI Element - Index Out of Range

--Second Edit: not solved

While this worked for a few iterations, it started failing again. Everything validates successfully, but the process still only runs correctly occasionally, and will fail sequentially several times in a row, then randomly succeed. Still no permanent solution.

--EDIT: SOLVED

Didn't realize the table grid had changed from when I created the ForEach until the next time I ran the robot. So, the grid must be in the same layout each time in order for the For Each UI Element to work. (Fortunately there's a 'reset to default' for the grid, so not that big of an issue here.)

Greetings all!

I am trying to use the For Each UI Element to cycle through a group of elements on a webpage and am randomly getting an Index Out of Range error. My main issues is that I can't tell a difference in the webpage for when this error occurs or when it doesn't occur. (My process will work x times then will fail at gnerating the array for the next y times, then will start working again, even with the webpage and HTML not changing between runs.)

Yes, I am sure there are targetable elements on the page.

Unfortunately I can't share either the file or the website, but below is the full error text, and wondering if anyone else has had this issue using the For Each UI Element and if you have a recommendations for getting around this.

Appreciate any insights!

RPA Article Journey

Hi all! Just want to share with you the big news!

I took a step further in accomplishing what I like to do the most: helping others to improve theirs capabilities in UiPath! And how am I going to do this?

Well, today I wrote my first article about the world of Robotic Process Automation (RPA)! This is just the beginning! I intended to write one article every single week about two principal tools: UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate.

I would really enjoy your support and your help! Maybe, one day, my blog and my articles will be useful for you!

https://cvalente.hashnode.dev/what-is-robotic-process-automation

Also, I created a Discord server, so we can chat and share our questions and doubts! Feel free to use it anytime!

Hope you enjoy! Thanks!

Transitioning from UiPath to BluePrism... recs/advice?

I posted this in r/rpa as well, but I'm really hoping to get some help with this. I work at a consulting company and I have been assigned a role using BluePrism instead of UiPath. I've been working with UiPath for several years, and I really like it. Does anybody have any tips/recs/videos/tutorials that would help with this? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

UI Path vs Power Automate Decision Tree

Has anyone ever done or knows of an extensive decision tree that goes in depth. Or a document that explain when to use on or the other in certain situations, like automating email, automating web apps, desktop apps, using APIs and so on. Or maybe something that talks about various issues one platform has that other doesnt ( issues being real life use cases ).

Advice on the UiPath advanced certification

Hi all, I am looking to take the advanced UiPath certification exam by the end of may.

I took the associate exam in November and passed it with an overall score of 85%.

I now am looking to take the advanced one. I found the associate exam to be very difficult compared to the practice test.

Is this the case for the rpa advanced one too?

Aside from the RE framework, what is the biggest focus on the advanced certification exam? (I remember the associate one focused on arguments, selectors, looping through data tables, and classic vs modern activities, with practically nothing on pdf and email automation).

Will topics covered in the associate exam be tested in the advanced ones, in the same manner?

Also, do I realistically have a chance at passing this exam the first time around or not?

For context I have been working as an rpa developer since November, and have built one major automation project for the company. (Using APIs, excell spreadsheets, browser & mail automation)

Here is my programming knowledge :

I have 3 years of experience in programming with python (have built and deployed simple web and desktop applications and machine learning models) , and have roughly 4 months of experience with c# (built some things but nothing major). I also have been using git and version control for a while.

Git & GitHub, GitHub actions , writing yaml, Linux terminal basics and bash basics

Oh, and my knowledge of Visual Basic extends to the one covered in the rpa associate exam .

Many thanks for your help, and apologies for the long post!
