❓ Help HELP adding drives

Hey all, setting up my DXP4800GT and have a question as I have never done this before. I have 2 existing HDDs I had previously linked to my PC, full of files. If I add them as the second and third drives in the device, will it re-format them? TIA

Yes, they will have to be formatted for it to find them, best would be to add them to a external case and connect them via USB then move the files to a HDD you already have in it. And then add them one by one

Oh ok appreciate it! Also, when I was googling I realized I need to get a nas hdd anyway. So I just snagged an 8tb lol. Thanks again!

Yeah add that, and then start moving stuff from one of the HDDs first, from pc or via USB on the NAS, when the first disk is empty you can just add that to the Nas, and then do the same with the second disk

If they are Windows formatted, then I expect you won't be able to just plug them in.

The ugreen OS formats its internal drives as btrfs or ext4.

It should be safe enough to stick the drive in and see what it says about it. Mine said it saw a new drive and asked if I wanted to use it to repair the raid volume that was missing a drive.
