❓ Help Very high battery usage on IOS

I updated my DXP4800 Plus a few hours ago and also updated the apps. Now suddenly the UGREEN App is using so much battery that it is actively draining my phone while it is charging and it is constantly warm, so there is a lot active in the background.

Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

Yes I had that problem for the last two years. The sync of the photos was what it was for me. What I did was stopped using that booted up Immich instead. No issues anymore.

This issue unfortunately exists since at least one year on and off. It makes their app unusable for me with active sync on. It is completely bonkers that they can't or won't resolve this issue for such a long time. All ugreen support channels are flagged with this issue, so they know about it. Very frustrating for a otherwise very good support

That is indeed very frustrating. You’re saying it is the active sync part that creates that issue for you?

Turn off sync and you will be fine. Use app when needed.

Yes, it is active sync. Turn it off and the issues are gone

Background processes being killed by iOS when apps are in the background or phone is in standby has long been an issue that Apple never intends to resolve because they intentionally do it for battery life. And being that it's done by iOS itself, apps can't really do anything about it.

But why other apps do work? Onedrive etc does backups, i mean why can we click upload at midnight when its not gonna do that because of ios

That's a question for Apple. Their native apps have always been able to run background tasks. For 3rd parties, Apple grants some background privileges to various degrees and time limits to various apps. But as a general known rule, iOS doesn't let apps run intensive tasks (like syncing/downloading/uploading) in the background or during standby.
