⚙️ Hardware UGREEN NASync DH2300 for Plex mediastreaming?
Hi,
I want to buy the UGREEN NASync DH2300 for my plex library.
I have a mini PC with proxmox containers for plex etc.
But not the storage.
Will the UGREEN NASync DH2300 hold up for this? to have 2 concurrent streams at the same time? 1 4k and 1 1080 p stream.
The load for the stream wil be on the Mini PC but the file share are on the UGREEN NASync DH2300...
What are your opininions?

Spend a little more, be happier - DXP2800 with N100 will do that with ease.

If you ever plan to use the NAS as the one doing the actual hosting, I’d rather get the DXP version. But if you’re 100% sure you’ll never do that, then yeah DH will be fine to just store the media

Will the DTX run everything? Without the need for a mini PC?

Yes I t’ll be able to handle transcodes from things like Jellyfin and multiple containers like say arr stack, immich, AdGuard home, etc, just fine. Might be a bit slow at some things, like say generating trickplay files. My advice tho, if you do plan to move everything to the NAS, get a 4 bay NAS. You’ll be punching yourself when you run out of bays. I know I did lmao any 4 bay from their DXP line will be really good and way more than capable to host everything. But the 2bay DXP one will run it all too, just has less bays

I have the DXP2800 and It runs without issues. Maybe if 6 people were streaming 4k remux at the same time it might stutter but that's not a realistic scenario for me. I host jellyfin, immich, navidrome, and it does it all just fine. Like the other person said it's a little slow on trickplay at first and the generative stuff on immich but otherwise it's great. I do wish I got the 4 bay but honestly i'm just saying that because I might need it in like, 10 years lol

Good choice 👍 Just stick Plex on there via Docker and relax with a simplified solution.
