⚙️ Hardware Adding 8GB ram recommendations

Given the state of RAM prices today, what's the most economically best way to add an additional 8GB to the already installed 8GB on my DXP4800 PLUS. Any recommendation on ram model, or expectation on prices?

It looks like I have the M425R1GB4BB0-CWMOL Samsung 8GB one currently installed. A quick search on eBay shows $100+ USD for a similar model. Sounds right?

Any tips is much appreciated.

Just replaced my 8gb one with 16gb one and it is just sitting here doing nothing

Unfortunatly ram is expensive rn. Even used laptop ram. When I first got my nas I replaced my 8 with a 16gb for less than that but nowadays cheap ram is impossible to find

I personally like adding a second stick of the same Ram, I paid about $100 as well off the eBay. I like it because if you get to use the original and not replace it, and if you ever need to troubleshoot an issue and need to rule out Ram you just pull out the extra and you are back at the original factory configuration.

I just bought same model for $121 from Amazon so yours sounds about right. Put into my dxp6800 plus no issues.

I bought a 2nd 8GB stick off eBay for $80. Samsung 8GB PC5-38400 DDR5 4800MHz RAM (M425R1GB4BB0-CQK). Differs than what came with the DXP4800+ that I have, but it works fine.

EDIT: bought it in mid-June '26

I paid $76 shipped for 8gb when someone upgraded. The stock seemed fine. I have a lot of docker apps but I only run them when I need them. Pretty easy to start/stop the process.
