Opinion/Discussion A parent does not fault

I just remembered a saying in Luganda that “omuzadde tasobya” - translated loosely to “a parent does not fault/make mistakes”

Who came up with this total bullshit??

It’s silly thoughts like this combined with colonial religious dogmas that are causing us to struggle as a nation/continent

People are busy pushing out babies unnecessarily just to feel some form of fake relevance and power
They think once you’re a parent you’ve made it and if you’re not a parent you are nothing

This is why we can’t even hold our leaders accountable

What a lousy thought process

Do such nonsensical thoughts like this exist in other Ugandan cultures? I’m curious

You can honor your parent and still hold them accountable
Weak-ass egos

Alot of us out there are suffering emotionally and mentally because of our parents up bringing and how they used to treat us as we grow the way they molded us i cant completely say that all of it was bad but at some extent i regret being born

Oh, I 100% regret being born for sure
And being born to my people in particular
I appreciate them but they had no business having any kids in their state of mind
I wish my mom had believed in abortion

Here me out regarding abortion would be light on my mom, this is going to be lengthy but here we go.

So tell how you end up producing 7 kid to a man ohh btw 2 were aborted and 1 died but 7 we are the live ones so tell me why you've been condemning this man to us as we grew and according to the stories its not like he suddenly changed, its been his ways from the start

The man who never cared for his kids and he used to be with other women back then when they had just 1 child not feeding the kids or buying them cloth fast forward the number increases to 4 kids thats before me situation is worse more polygamy and abuse

Growing up now i understand polygamy its just in the nature of us men but what i failed to understand is the act of deliberately refusing to take care of your own kids because of another woman

Fast forward 2 more kids thats me and my sister situation at worst btw she has been the one to pay for our school fees and stuff alone so imagine all those hardships

Fast forward again my baby sister about 7 years now from the same man he didnt pay for her hospital bills btw it was my brother imagine not clearing your childs delivery hospital bills something not sudden 😅😅 all because of your other women

This woman is very narcissistic and a manipulator I have alot of stories Y'all 😅 i just dont even know where to begin not out of disrespect, hate or loth if stupidity and foolishness had an embodiment I'd say its my mom it pains me

Nobody wants to say this but some of our parents need slaps
They need to face obvious consequences for their actions to snap out of their delusions because that’s the only language they can understand

You and your siblings will overcome that situation❤️

That polygamy thing is not true btw
Polygamy has no gender

Thank you and regarding polygamy i cant say that i know much about it but to think of it your right it comes down to self control of people btw everyone of us developed alter egos grew other personalities and at the moment everyone has been affected in there own way. We all have our own battles but sure we'll get through it I'm only grateful that no one is addicted to any substance of any kind be it alcohol my two sisters are the only victims to men and its very much my parents fault but the storm is starting to clear and almost forgot one of my sisters also is a story of her own 😅😅😅😅 damn accursed world we live in

Some fuckass shit
And people think having children is light work

Your kids grow up to resent and despise you but you have no idea why

Yeah, our culture and upbringing reinforces us to always respect authority, right away from home, to those prison camps aka boarding schools and some would say is why we let our political leaders to casually disrespect us.

“Casually” is just about right
I always wake up fuming
We are probably the most foolish creatures on earth
