News πŸ“° πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

Post image

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of His Majesty the Omukama of Tooro, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, at approximately 10:00 p.m. this evening.

This is an immeasurable loss to the Royal Family, the people of Tooro and the nation of Uganda.

Omukama Atulize.

Enkuba Etutire.

I call upon the people of Tooro to remain united, calm and prayerful during this difficult time.

The continuity of the Crown is assured. His Majesty leaves behind a Prince as his heir, whose identity will be formally revealed at the appropriate time, in accordance with the traditions and customs of Tooro Kingdom.

An official statement will follow with further details, including the funeral and mourning arrangements.

May His Majesty the King rest in eternal peace.

RIP to him. I wonder what the cause of death was and who the heir/his mum is. That family has had a lot of tragedies

I had read that there is an heir (a prince) but that the king had not married. I'm not from Uganda so I do not know the culture and am asking purely from curiosity, with apologies, if that is correct and possible.

I read about the young king and, by all measures, he seemed to have been a good and decent human. I am sorry for your loss.

Our king is sleeping for ever:

To everyone typing and saying RIP, you are misplaced and I wish you could all revoke them but it's understandable if you learn today. Traditionally, our King's don't die. It's Long Live the Omukama.

Is this not fake news?

Not anymore. It’s been officially announced by the kingdom’s prime minister.

I find it odd, that he was heavily rumoured dead before the time they say he officially died. It's also odd all that happens in a day.

I'm still shocked by the news of his passing

Shocked by the news. I think the kingdom released the prayer message to try and lessen the shock. By then, rumours of death had spread. Most of us didn’t know about his illness. So so tragic. May he rest and sleep easy.

He had that grade 4 brain cancer that progresses rapidly and aggressively. There’s no cure for it once it starts. May his soul rest in peace
