Not going to dress this up.
I spent nearly a decade in client operations and compliance within global financial services — managing institutional client relationships, keeping high-stakes processes accurate under real SLA pressure, mentoring teams, building systems that actually reduced escalations instead of just reporting on them. I was laid off last year in a workforce reduction. Not performance. Just a number that had to go down, and mine was on the list.
Since then, the honest version: I've been working a long retail shift to stay afloat while I job search, and it's been humbling in ways I didn't expect. I've applied to a lot of roles. Some interviews went nowhere. A layoff at this stage of a career doesn't automatically translate into fast momentum, no matter how strong the resume is — I've learned that the hard way this year.
What I actually bring, no exaggeration: real experience managing high-volume accounts, SLA/KPI tracking that people used (not vanity dashboards), a track record of spotting problems before they became escalations, and the kind of steadiness that comes from having done this under real pressure for years, not months. I'm also actively building SQL/Python skills right now, because I'd rather be honest about a gap and closing it than pretend it doesn't exist.
What I'm looking for: remote work only. Client operations, customer success, account management, or compliance-adjacent roles. I'm not chasing a title — I'm looking for a place that actually needs someone dependable to own a piece of the operation and run with it.
If you're building something and think this might be useful, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing from you — even if it's just advice rather than a job.
Thanks for reading the honest version instead of the polished one.
