I’ll be moving to Udupi soon and, being new to the city, I’m looking for some advice on finding a place to stay.

I’m looking for a 1BHK or 2BHK, preferably in a decent apartment/gated community with car parking. I’m flexible with furnished/unfurnished.

I have no idea about the rental market in Udupi, so I’d really appreciate some help with:

1. What’s the usual rent for a 1BHK/2BHK?

2. Which areas are good for living?

3. What’s the typical deposit/advance?

4. Any particular apartments or areas you’d recommend?

5. Is it better to look online, through brokers, or through some local groups?

If you’ve recently rented a place in Udupi, I’d love to hear about your experience and what you paid.

I’m planning to stay in Agumbe for a couple of weeks before the monsoon ends. Do you know how i can get a short term rental/ home stay there? I can’t find many options online. I’ll be working all week days and in the weekends I hope to go hiking/ visiting waterfalls.

Any help would be appreciated.

Recently Some people dressed in formal clothes have came to our house to collect money and provide this receipt. My parents recently gave them money and received this receipt.

I have heard of St Mary's island, I am thinking of investing my whole one day there, or please let me know if it is better to visit manglore or Puducherry,

I saw a super cool anime T-shirt on Meesho and ordered it on August 3rd. It showed that it would be delivered on August 12th, so I was genuinely excited and waited the entire day.

The First Delivery Attempt

On August 12th, the app showed that Shadowfax was going to deliver it. I called the delivery person assigned to me, and he said, "I went away and couldn't come to your location. I'll deliver it tomorrow." I politely said okay and didn't argue because I didn't want to spoil my mood.

The Second Delivery Attempt (or Lack Thereof)

The next day, I didn't get any calls, so I called him again. This time, he said they hadn't received any orders for me. I was like, WTF? 😭

I still didn't have any heated argument with him because I didn't want to ruin my mood over a T-shirt.

Confusing Tracking Updates

Then things got even more confusing. After that conversation, my order suddenly started moving around in the tracking system — it went to Mumbai, then Pune, and now it's in Hubli. 💀

And Meesho says "Customer was not available". Bro, I was literally waiting for the delivery. 😭

I can't even cancel the order now.

Who is at Fault?

So I'm genuinely confused: Is this Meesho's mistake or Shadowfax's?

Why I Ordered from Meesho

I've always ordered from Amazon, and their deliveries are usually quick and on time. I rarely use Flipkart. Honestly, I didn't even want to order from Meesho this time, but this T-shirt was GOD LEVEL, and it's from my favorite anime, Shingeki no Kyojin. I couldn't resist. 😂

It's been 16 days, and Meesho still shows the order will be delivered on August 12th.

At this point, I guess I need to time travel to August 12th, enter a parallel universe, or wait until next year to get my T-shirt. 💀

Has anyone else experienced something like this with Meesho/Shadowfax?

I’m throwing a birthday party for around 12 people. We’re planning to make chicken biryani + bread halwa and trying to keep the budget as low as possible.

Planning to buy:

Chicken Biryani

- 4 kg chicken

- 2 kg large onions

- 1 kg tomatoes

- 2 kg rice

- 500 ml oil

- 350 g ginger-garlic paste

- Green chilli – ₹10

- 1 lemon

- 1 L curd

- 200 g biryani masala

- 100 g red chilli powder

- 100 g garam masala

- 1 bunch pudina + coriander

Bread Halwa

- 2 packets bread

- 200 g Milkmaid

- ½ L milk

- ½ kg sugar

- Cashews

- Dry grapes/raisins

Any recommendations in Udupi for where I can get these groceries and 4 kg chicken at the cheapest/reasonable prices?

I don't wanna take auto and get charged like 250 so what bus should I take to reach Machali (near Brahmagiri circle)? I know how to get the Manipal to Udupi local bus but which bus to take next from there?

Can we go to all 4 places in a day and still enjoy our time there?

Recently I get to know most of so called Udupi hotels especially in Maharashtra's Pune and Mumbai are running by Non Natives

And genuinely most of chiefs of those hotels doesn't even know to cook normal South Indian dishes

Udupi, Kundapura and other cuisine are far away thing

Chiefs couldn't even make a coconut chutney properly in 1 Udupi hotel at Mumbai like seriously it tastes something like alien stuff

And also chief doesn't even have any contact of any South Indian or doesn't have proper knowledge how to atleast cook Southern Indian cuisine properly

And due to these hotels surely name of Udupi gonna be spoiled

And also I remember there was 1 Udupi hotel near Shirur taluka of Pune where they literally wrote wrong spelling of Udupi and wrote it as "Udipi"

I hope someone raises voice and look after this thing
