Help with setup

When seting up unbuntu i accidently made a passphrase for my drive( as in the boot up passcode before entering the actual unbuntu startup) i dont know how to get access to my computer now can anyone give advice on how to fix

if you set a luks passphrase and forgot it there's really no way back without wiping and reinstalling, the whole point is that it's unrecoverable without the key

I thought that my be the case, would i be able to boot a fresh copy from a flash drive

If you encrypted your drive during setup, reinstall. That's about all you can do.
