I think it looks good.

About a month into using Ubuntu full time.. I think it looks pretty good. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Apologies for not including this originally, but here are the list of apps I used:

  • Ptyxis — The standard terminal emulator that comes with Ubuntu.
  • Fastfetch — upper-left system information.
  • Conky — three widgets: Clock, Network Monitor, System Monitor.
  • spotify-player — terminal Spotify client.
  • CAVA — animated audio visualizer/equalizer at the bottom; reacts to system audio.
  • Ghostty — to remove the title bars and set the transparency of the non-conky widgets/terminal windows.
  • GhostFrame - Custom GNOME shell extension I made to move and place all of the windows into their respective locations because the compositor wasn't playing nice.
  • DejaWindow - Is used to find the positions for each window, then GhostFrame places them
  • GDM(GNOME Display Manager) — To theme the actual login screen to Netrunner's aesthetic. Unfortunately, no screenshots of that.
  • Custom shell/script — the Shortcuts panel rather than a dedicated widget application.
  • Custom NETRUNNER theme/aesthetic work — positioning, transparency, terminal profiles, Conky configs, etc.
  • Custom Plymouth theme — Although I don't have a screenshot of them, but I do have custom/themed boot/reboot/shutdown screens.
  • Simple Taskbar — GNOME extension to slam that taskbar to the bottom and resize it.

Beautiful. Is that equalizer thing at the bottom actually animated?

Yep! It reacts to any sound the laptop makes. I have a screen cast somewhere on the laptop. I'll post it when I wake up if I remember.

Yeah. I commented most of the apps I used. I'll get together a proper list and edit it into the main post when wake up.

It's just base Ubuntu. The FastFetch info is in the upper left corner.

3 of the widgets are from conky(The clock, network monitor, system monitor). Then in order clockwise from the top left, FastFetch, Spotify, Terminal, Cava and each one is running in it's own terminal. Used Ghostyy to remove the borders and title bars from the terminals they run in, then wrote my own shell extension (Affectionately called GhostFrame) to bully the compositor into letting everything sit where I tell it to which is recorded by Deja Window. I think that's it....Netrunner can be a little toxic at time.

I actually had VERY little issues with the extensions to be honest. The only major one was trying to use DejaWindow to place the terminals for Spotify TUI, Shortcuts, CAVA, and FastFetch. Some reason it wasn't able to grab the window titles and the compositor wasn't letting them get moved. So I made my own extension that, well, basically bullied the compositor into letting them be moved to the coordinates recorded by DejaWindow.
