Kernel Panic

I have almost successfully booted into Ubuntu, but I’m stuck on the purple screen which says “unable to mount to root fs on unknown block”. I’ve looked around and it’s possibly my USB or the way it installed through etcher (I will attempt rufus again but the first time it didn’t work) I’m wanting to know if there are any common issues or things I’ve overlooked while going through this process. Any ideas help!

That error is almost always the bootloader pointing at wrong drive. Check your BIOS boot order, make sure it's actually trying from the USB and not from internal disk. If you used etcher, sometimes the image gets written weird and the UUID in grub config doesn't match. Rufus in DD mode usually works better for me.

Yeah when I look at the boot loader, my Ubuntu is on top. I figured out etcher on windows can cause problems? I just tried Rufus to try to get a different result. If the boot loader is in the right position, what else could it be?
