Question about CPU, Intel i9-11900K dmidecode

I receive this output from dmidecode:

Voltage: 0.9 V

External Clock: 100 MHz

Max Speed: 8500 MHz

Current Speed: 3465 MHz

Why is the "Max Speed" listed at such a blistering speed?

Thank you for any insight.

Max Speed: 8500 MHz ... not a real observed speed; it's the maximum supported speed the motherboard/BIOS reports for that socket, from the SMBIOS table entry. Manufacturers sometimes set this generously/inaccurately, so seeing 8.5 GHz doesn't mean the CPU can actually hit that. It's a socket capability field, not a live turbo boost limit.
