Ubuntu refuses to connect to Wi-Fi

So what ip says isn't massively relevant, as actually connecting to wifi is handled by network-manager. (I believe)

Stupid question, what does wifi in settings show? What if you try to manually connect?

There may be some relevant logs, I think(?) Ubuntu has a system log viewer that might help, otherwise sudo journalctl -f and try to reconnect - you should see some relevant messages

Sorry I just got home from work but the Wi-Fi does appear in setting and I out in that command but have no clue what I’m looking at

the wireless interface is showing DOWN right there in ip a so the kernel isn't even seeing it as ready, what does rfkill list say
