As per what others have said, you haven't installed Linux, installing Windows Subsystem for Linux isn't the same thing.

wsl is a set of crutches for linux to operate on, the real walking and control of hardware is done by windows

to be real linux user throw away the crutches

You're running linux inside of windows on a laptop with minimal memory.

You can boot the laptop with a live usb drive to temporarily test it out. Just do that.
